Chapter Three

Chapter Three

It was the next class and I had study with Lydia and Allison. We all agreed we'd go to the library. I met them outside the library and we walked in, going to the back where all the seats were.

We got out all our books. Allison got a note pad and started to sketch the bruises. Man, she's never gonna give up until she finds the bottom of this mysterious "pattern", is she?

"I want one," Lydia suddenly said, breaking our silences. I sat next to Allison and Lydia sat on the opposite, looking ahead. Allison and I turned our heads and I noticed the two twins from yesterday had walked in.

Allison smiled and we turned back to Lydia. "Which one?"

"The straight one, obviously," Lydia tells us. I turned around in time to catch Danny walking around the corner, one of the twins turned their head, noticing Danny, who had bumped into another kid on accident and he apologises. Wait, so does that mean Danny isn't straight?

Lydia picks up her coffee and takes a sip. I looked at Allison's screen. Ancient Symbols. That's when Allison noticed Lydia's cup and picks it up. "What if its not a symbol?" Allison asks. "What if its actually a logo?"

She looked at up and Lydia was gone. I didn't realise she had left. I turned around again and saw that Lydia had gone to talk to one of the twins.

I rolled my eyes slightly.

I take the computer from Allison. "What are you doing?" She asks and I typed in the google search bar "Beacon Hills Logo".

"Helping you find this thing you're so obsessed with," I answered and started to search through the image of Beacon Hills Logo.

I glanced up to catch her smiling a little. "So, you believe me?"

I shrug. "I don't know," I answer. "But, maybe the craziness will stop if I actually help you."

Time skipped by, and we had finally found a logo that was similar to our wrist's bruises. "That's it," Allison points to the screen and then clicks on it. "Beacon Hill's first National Bank."

"That's odd," I countered, looking down at my wrist. "Why would the girl give us a bruise of Beacon Hills first National Bank logo?"

She sent me a small smirk and tucked some hair behind her ear. "We have to go there. We have to see what's going on there."

"Allison, your Dad—"

"He said to stay out of the supernatural business side," Allison tells me. "This is just two girls exploring the closed Beacon Hill's first National Bank." I gave her an unsure look. "Please."

I sighed and finally caved in. "Fine. When do we go?"

Allison gave me a smile. "Tomorrow night."

——

"So, mystery girl leaves a bruise on your arms and turns out to be a logo for the bank?" Lydia repeats as we exit Allison's car the next day at school, we were parked in the school parking lot.  Lydia scoffs. "What's she trying to do? Get some investment advice?"

"Not as this bank," Allison replies as she shuts the car door and we made our way to the boot. "It's been closed for years."

"Why aren't you telling Scott?" Lydia questions.

We stop at the boot. "Because according to someone, I need to find something real." She opens the car boot and grabs her bag. Inside was some clippers to unlock the bank we need for tonight. Allison closes the boot. "Which reminds me, um, I can't drive you home today. Addison and I have an errand to run after school."

Allison locks the car and we crossed the road to the other side to the school entrance.

——

It was later that night, Allison and I approached Beacon Hills First National Bank. We were on the dodgy side of town. You could hear police sirens in the background.

The door was padlocked. Allison looked around in case someone was here and I did the same, keeping a watch for her as she clipped the padlock opened with the clipper we had brought along with us.

We unlocked the closed bank and pushed opened the doors. Inside was pretty scary, not going to lie. Everything certainly did look abandoned, all the papers were scattered around everywhere, the furniture flipped. Allison set the clippers aside.

"Wow, this looks..." I begin.

"Scary," Allison finished for me. She looked at me. "I know. Just look out for anything that catches your eye, okay?"

I nod. "Sure."

We continued to walk in the room then it was led to a hallway. It was airy silent, which gave me the creeps.

Suddenly, we were being pushed up against the wall with force and I let out a gasp. Allison tried to fight back, but we were both being forced against the wall. "Ms. Morrell?" Allison lets out a gasp in surprise.

"Keep your mouths shut," Ms. Morrell snapped at us. "And listen close. You two have no idea what you just stepped into. Right now you've got maybe 20 seconds to get your asses hidden."

"What are you doing?" I let out a whimper.

"Get in that storage closet over there." Ms. Morrell commands, ignoring me. "Lock the door. When you hear the fighting start, that's when you two come out."

"What fighting?" Allison questions.

"You'll hear it." Ms. Morrell replied quickly. "Now, go!" She lets out go of us and my eyes widen. Allison and I looked at each other, both breathing heavily.

I looked to the right and saw the storage closet, I grabbed Allison's sleeve and pulled her along with me and we entered the storage closet. I closed the door behind us.

Allison looked at the switch and tried to turn it on but of course, there was no power. We moved to the corner as we heard some footsteps coming down the hallway.

We were definitely not alone which is probably the scariest thought ever - how many people are in this bank with us?

I copied Allison who had her hand on her mouth, so her breathing was heard. I watched as Allison puts some AMMONIA liquid on the floor, probably to try and cover our scent. I gave a strong feeling we're about the deal with some werewolves.

To stop the liquid from flowing out of the storage closet, Allison puts her jacket down on the liquid and let the liquid soak up in the jacket.

And so we can stand on the jacket. Allison brings out her phone and puts on the flash. She scans the flash around the room.

Suddenly, in the corner of my eye, I spot a dead blonde girl on the floor. I let out a gasp, covering my hand and so did Allison, we grip onto each other.

"Erica..." Allison whispered out. My heart dropped. So, this must Derek's beta. It went silent a few minutes later. But then, out of nowhere, a loud roar was heard. Allison looked at me. "Lets go,"

We exit the closet and ran towards the sound of roaring and fighting. Minutes later we find ourselves outside a vault. Scott and Derek were fighting two other teenager werewolves.

My eyes widen in surprise. I've never seen werewolves in real life before. My heart kept pounding, I felt... Frighten.

"Look out!" Allison calls out as a boy comes and attacks Scott, throwing him to the wall making me cringe and take a step back. I watched as a girl took a swing at Derek, but Derek pushed her back.

I looked at Scott, Scott was on the ground, with the boy looking over him. The boy shoves his fingers into Scott, I widen my eyes as I watched the boy push Scott up against the wall. Scott lets out a loud groan.

Allison then suddenly bends down, I noticed some dust around the edges of the vault. "No! Don't break the seal!" Derek yells at Allison as he tries to fight off the girl.

Allison took a good look at Derek then Scott. "Boyd!" Allison yells out. Oh, so that must be Boyd. Boyd snapped his head around to Allison and she breaks the seal. Boyd drops Scott in a heartbeat and runs out of the room, racing past us like there was no tomorrow and the girl does the same.

Derek grabs onto Allison, squeezing her wrist and Scott comes quickly after. "Don't touch her!" He snaps at Derek.

"What were you thinking?" Derek snaps at her, letting her go.

"I had to do something!" Allison exclaims.

"She saved our lives," Scott pointed out, blood spilling out from his mouth.

"Yeah, and what do you think they're gonna do out there?" Derek demands. He looked at Allison, glaring at her. "Do you have any idea what we just set free?"

"You want to blame me?" Allison exclaimed. "Well, I am not the one turning teenagers into killers."

"No. No, that's just the rest of your family," Derek spat.

Allison sucks in a breath. "I have made mistakes," Allison continued. "Gerard is not my fault."

Derek cocked his head. "And what about your mother?"

"What do you mean?" Allison looked at Scott.

It went silent for a few seconds and Derek looked at Scott. "Tell her, Scott."

"What does he mean, Scott?"

I cleared my throat, remembering Erica in the closet. "Derek," Derek snapped his head over towards me. "You might wanna come see this,"
