3rd Person's POV

“Happy birthday Chaeyoung-ah!” The members cheered happily when Jisoo came back from the kitchen to retrieve the cake and the birthday girl grinned brightly at the sight, giggling as all her members surrounded her when the cake was placed on the table.

“You guys really didn’t have to do all this.” She laughed when Jisoo lit the candles, Lisa giving her a small push from the side. “Of course we would celebrate your birthday. Jennie unnie did tell you to have fun, right?”

The sound of her girlfriend’s name made her grin soften as she nodded her head in reply. Though jennie couldn’t be there due to wanting to give the girls privacy, they had insisted that it was fine due to jennie being considered part of the family.

“I still think she could have joined us!” Lisa exclaimed with a pout and Jisoo nodded her head in agreement. 
“I understand that unnie was doing it out of respect but she really didn’t have to.” The latter sighed softly while the birthday girl just smiled and shook her head. “Jennie has always been so thoughtful. I’m happy our Chaeyoungie gets to have someone who takes care of her.” jisoo expressed, making the said girl to blush while covering her cheeks.

“Stop being so dramatic!” She whined as jisoo and lisa burst into giggles. 
“Aww, even after all these years, you get so shy about her.” lisa teased before Chaeyoung pouted in defeat as her shoulders slumped. “Whatever. Let’s go so I can see her already.” She huffed, making her members laugh even more.

But despite all their teasing, the girls were all happy for Chaeyoung to have someone she comes home to when she can and understood her busy life.

When the candles are out and the food has been either finished or packed away, the girls gather in the living room while Chaeyoung fixes her things to head out after spending the whole day with her members.

“Was it really okay for Jennie unnie? It’s getting really late.” lisa asked worriedly while glancing at the time, but Chaeyoung shook her head before giving the other girl a tight squeeze. 
“Don’t worry, she just texted me a while ago.” She assures her before patting her arm. “Also, she’s been meaning to come over.” She chuckles

“She should really come over soon.” jisoo replied when she placed one of the containers in a plastic and then placed it near the rest of Chaeyoung's things. 
“I’m sure she’s gotten bored with having to spend more of her days indoors.” lisa commented after she took a seat. 
“Be sure to tell her that she’s welcome here, anytime.” jisoo smiles and Chaeyoung nods her head.

“I’ll be sure to tell her that.” She tells them when she grabs most of her things, lisa helping with the smaller items since they insisted in accompanying her to the car. “Thank you, and I’ll see you all later.”

“Do you and jennie unnie have plans for tomorrow?” lisa couldn’t help but ask. “Yeah, I’m pretty sure you guys have stuff you want to do together. Since we’ve been busy, you haven’t had much time together.” jisoo added while the blue haired woman hummed in thought.

Truthfully, neither of them made plans to do much, just spend some quality time together because jennie know that she can’t be out much and that she needs her rest. But she didn’t mind that.

The thought of spending time indoors and cuddling made her smile before she’s nodding her head. 
“I guess you could say that.” She chuckled before they reached the car. Lisa opened the door for her and then loaded all the things inside.

“Happy birthday Chaeyoung.” The pair hugged her and chaeyoung squeezed them one more time before she hopped inside, giddy to finally see jennie. 
“Thank you. Get some rest, okay?”

“Yes!”

The ride isn’t too long but Chaeyoung couldn’t contain her excitement. She saw a text from jennie and her smile only widened.

And true to her words, she’s at jennie's apartment within five or so minutes, thanking the driver and then hurrying over to the door while being careful not to drop any of the things she’s holding.

Right before she could even reach the door, it swung open, as if jennie was already waiting by the window for her arrival. A wide and bright smile stretched across her face when she saw jennie's beaming face, but before jennie gave her a hug, she helped her carry the rest of her things inside.

Once her hands were free, the woman wasted no time in tackling jennie into a vey tight bear hug and making her squeal. They both stand there in blissful silence, her head tucked comfortable in jennie's neck as she inhaled her scent while jennie gently ran her fingers through her soft hair.

“I missed you so much.” chaeyoung murmured against jennie's skin, making a shiver run down her spine. But she smile at her words before pulling away a bit and pressing a quick kiss to her lips. “I missed you, too.” jennie tell her and then take her hands in hers to lead her to the couch. 
“I hope you and the girls had fun at least?” Chaeyoung nods her head quickly, a kiss immediately landing on her cheek.

“They were hoping you would be there. They miss you.” She informs jennie and she chuckle at how cute her friends were. 
“I’ll be sure to drop by when I can.” jennie promise and she nods once before wrapping her arms around chaeyoung and resting her head against her shoulder.

They're both quiet for a while, just taking their time in relishing the fact that they had each other. It makes Chaeyoung drown in jennie's warmth as she closes her eyes while she press kisses at the top of her head every now and then.

All the little things made her feel at home and she’s never felt this relaxed in a long while. Her eyes slowly begin to drop until she feels jennie shifting slightly next to her and she forces them to reopen.

“Hey, can you stay awake for me? It’s just a few minutes.” jennie whisper and she lifts her head to look at her. A soft smile becomes present on jennie's features when she see the small pout on Chaeyoung's face because god she was adorable when she looked so sleepy like this.

Jennie press a kiss to her forehead before reaching into her pocket. But she follows the movement and she’s a bit more awake now when she sees the neatly wrapped gift resting on the palm of your hand. “I hope you like it.” Was all jennie say before she’s gingerly picking it up.

Chaeyoung gives it a small shake to guess what’s inside, but there’s no sound. So, she carefully peels off the gift wrap, only to see a black box inside. Her heart rate picks up when an idea pops inside her head.

With one more glance at jennie's face, she slowly opens the box to reveal a beautiful ring. Her eyes immediately shoot to jennie's face again and jennie smile nervously.

“I know this isn’t the most romantic setting and everything but I...” jennie clear her throat while staring down at the ring. 
“We’ve been together for so long now and I don’t know. Every time I look at you, I just fall more and more in love with you. I wasn’t sure the first time, dating an idol and everything, but now, I have never been so sure of anything in my entire life.” jennie mutter while running her thumb over the back of Chaeyoung's hand.

“I almost lost you before, but I don’t want to risk losing you again, Chaeyoung, because I’m sure of us. I trust you and I would do anything just to see you happy.” jennie look up to see tears already forming in Chaeyoung's eyes before reaching up to cup her cheek. 

“Will you give me the chance of making you happy and marry me?” jennie couldn’t help the crack in her voice but chaeyoung doesn’t seem to care when she grabs the front of jennie shirt to pull her closer and crash her lips against hers.

Jennie can taste the saltiness of her tears through the kiss, but when she pulls only a breath away, she’s nodding her head and wiping them away.
“Of course I’ll marry you.” Chae says tearfully and jennie can’t help but smile when she look at her. “Really?”

She laughs despite her tears and nods again. “Yes!” She repeats and jennie's heart soars when chaeyoung give her another kiss, slow and meaningful, before jennie pull away to put the ring on her finger.

After putting it on, Chaeyoung's heart practically melted as she watched jennie admiring the ring on her finger before pressing a light kiss to her knuckles. 
“Happy birthday.” jennie tells her when chaeyoung look up and her arms wrap tightly around you so she can be as close as possible. “I couldn’t have asked for anything more. Thank you.”

Though chaeyoung didn’t spend the entirety of her birthday with her and she didn’t have a date planned out for her vacation, she was more than happy to have a healthy and happy life with the people she loves.

Though a trip to her family and the dorm was sure to be arranged after the gift she received right before her birthday ended.
