You looked at everybody who was having fun on the deck.

Somehow, you felt as if you were left out. It didn't happen often.

You were a sociable person, always made friends and never judged anyone on their appearance. But this time was a lot different. You didn't know why but you were shy this time. You wanted to be felt out.

Maybe the fact that the captain of the ship that you were on was Ace's brother and so you felt intimidated and you didn't wanted to mess up and make his entire family hate you forever.

You were sitting in the crows nest, a place were apparently the Zoro guy spend most of his time in this tiny space, barrel size, shaped area.

Maybe it was the fact that you were scared.

The fact that scared you was seeing Ace like this. He was somehow different. You felt it. He was way more protective and had a smile on his face every second he was with his brother.

That smile scared you. It was not a fake one, it was his true smile he used to have before Thatch died. You were never able to bring that smile on his face everytime he looked at you.

Jealousy maybe? No... There was no jealousy.

You massaged your temple as you let out a sigh.

"I'm only depressing myself." You said quietly.

You stared at the clouds that were creating slowly and slowly shapes that you could recognize.

If I were to die... Will anyone ever notice?

You slapped your cheeks as that thought crossed your mind.

Damn (Name)! Snap out of it!

You couldn't just fall into depression. It was no time for that. You needed to help Ace avenge Thatch.

As you proceed on thinking about the future and what's gonna happen next, you felt slightly dizzy.

You decided that you had enough fresh air and you went in the kitchen for a cup of water.

As you entered into the kitchen, you saw Luffy and Usopp playing with their food, who a few seconds later, got scolded by Sanji.

"Sanji-san. Can you please give me a cup of water?" You asked politely.

Ace looked at you and gave you a smile. You tried your best to smile back but you started to actually see black, feeling very weak in your knees.

But somehow you managed to keep yourself up without anyone getting suspicious.

"Here you go (Name)-chwan!"

You thanked him and then drank the water.

As you were about to place it on the table you blanked out completely.

"(Name)!" You heard Ace shouting at you to stay awake until Chopper comes but failed and closed your eyes, embracing the darkness.

"I don't know how to feel about this. It seems that she has been poisoned. The poison is spreading through the whole body." You heared Chopper explain.

"It's a deadly poison. It was used back in the times as the best assassination method." He continued.

"Deadly?! Assassination?" You heared Ace starting to freak out.

"No worries. Luckily I have everything to make the antidote."

Ace breathed out in relief. He got scared. Really scared. He noticed something was off once you smiled at him. He knew something has happened.

"But there is one bumper. The cruelty about this poison is that it paralyzing the body that's within. Did she had a fight on the way?"

"Yeah... With the Billions but she beat the crap out of them."

"I don't think Baroque Works has this kind of poison. Especially that fleet. This poison is very rare, it disappeared from the market years ago. The only way someone could buy it, and it was very expensive, and also very rare it was from the black market. Even so, the only way to buy this poison is from Marines..."

You let out a heavy breath letting them know you can hear everything.

"(Name)! (Name)! Can you hear me?" You felt Ace's hands hold yours.

"She can't talk. We need to have patience."

After a few hours, you were finally able to move and speak.

"I managed to get most of the poison out. Make sure you don't make sudden moves." Chopper told you before exiting the room.

Ace stood next to you, holding your hand the entire time.

"Thank you, Dr. Chopper."

"Kyaaa~ don't call me doctor! It doesn't make me happy bastard!" Chopper started to dance around.

As soon as he left the room, Ace gave you a look that you haven't seen in a long time.

"You scared the crap out of me!" Ace yelled.

"Sorry..."

"Sorry? Sorry?! You could've died! Died! It was a deadly poison... I cannot go further without you, (Name)." Ace hugged you.

You felt a few tears coming from your eyes.

"I'm sorry... I should've told you." You said.

"Wait. You know who did this?! I'm going to make a bonfire out of their body! Who is it?"

"I don't know! But remember back in Nanohana when we met up at the docks and I fought the Billions? Before getting there, a dude and I crossed paths and he said that he was send by my father. He probably managed to cut me somewhere and got the poison in." You explained.

"And why didn't you tell me about this?!" Ace asked angry.

"Well,you were about to see your brother that you haven't seen in years. I wasn't going to spoil the fun."

"Whatever." Ace said before storming out if the room.

You started to feel guilty. You never imagined that he was going to be mad about it.

Here you go guys, chapter 24! Omg I feel like this book will easily reach 50 chapters. Like wtf. Chapter 24 and we're only in Alabasta.
