Backstory: The Yagami family was a pretty wealthy back in the day up till now, but Riku doesn't care since he doesn't want to be this famous and recently took up gambling for fun. He learned it from his dad as his mom was against the idea, but Riku learned day, but day wanting to become better and get a lot more money. He got transfer to Hyakkaou Private school to become a better student and then experience the gambling games.
