Chapter Eleven: Dress up.

"Justy I wanna ride!" Aurora put her hands up and Justin sighed but the smile on his lips gave him away.
"Me too!" Rhydian nodded
"Hop in" Justin watched amused as the two little kids tried with all their effort to get in the mini car.
"Little babies" He reached over picking Aurora up and then pulling Rhydian in, driving around.
"At what age do you think he'll figure out you're controlling that car with a remote" Vincent looked at Alina's face, who smirked.
"The day I have him drive off a cliff"

Aurora's P.O.V:

I hated going to school.

Well, not exactly the school part but rather the whole teachers, studying, math and waking up part. I liked observing people, I used to have friends too, until we got older and the rest were allowed on sleepovers and stuff, I was not because I had to help around the house.

We distanced, slowly only nodding at each other in the hallway.

Not to mention I always looked like a zombie, in the same everyday clothes. I could look a little better but again the whole waking up early plays in and it wasn't worth it.

Today however was different, I was starting a new school with no one who knew me there, sort of like a fresh start, both scary and exciting, not to mention the whole private school thing, I was used to public school, it was one of the worst ones there, sort of funny though. I liked the stability of it when not knowing what the next few words or actions at home were going to be, I knew I'd see the familiar lockers, classmates, teachers and hear the same voices, singing, fights, dirty jokes.

I looked at myself in the mirror, just finished brushing my brown hair, which fell behind my back neatly, my mismatched blue eyes looked back, a thought hit my head looking at them making me tilt my head.

One iris a very dark blue like Nico's, while the other, a light sky blue like Milo's.

I ran my fingers through my hair, deciding to put the frontal half of it up with two braids on either side, letting them mix when the rest of my loose hair. It was one of the only styles I could do properly, and so my fingers pulled and tied them up accordingly.

Finally, I let out a sigh looking at myself in the mirror, fully, not just the face. My shirt was snow-white, tucked into my dark skirt, a dark blue tie neatly in place (Thank you, Youtube!) and a blazer with golden buttons that contrasted perfectly with the dark material of it.

I looked...like one of those rich kid girls on Pinterest. I felt funny like it was Halloween and I was dressing up in a really weirdly lame outfit.

Who dresses up as a schoolgirl by choice again?

Someone knocked on my door, and I opened up to Vince, who looked surprised that I was up early.

Why would he ever think that? Obviously not because I rose up around 9-10 both days I was here.

Oops.

I think I turned red at those thoughts.

"Good morning" His fingers lightly tickled my stomach as he wished me. "Nervous?"

"Mhmm" I decided on and then remembering the whole verbal responses to the older two rule, at least only they cared about it. "It's weird."

"What is?" He asked amused, leaning on the doorway as I picked up the bag which had a couple of notebooks in it with a pencil case and other random school things.

"This uniform?"

His soft sort of husky laugh (it was early in the morning after all) made me smile, I think he should laugh more often.

"Not funny" I muttered "Feels like I'm playing dress-up."

He choked on his laughter. I raised my eyebrow.

"What?"

"Nothing." He shook his head, sobering up. "Nothing."

"C'mon" He put his arm out, I hung my bag over my shoulder and went to his side, his arm wrapping around my shoulders that seemed tiny compared to his.

"All four of them are going to be with you, okay?" Vince took me to a different corridor today, and then pressed the button on the elevator which immediately opened, and then closed behind us. "So if anyone troubles you even one little bit you go to them."

"I know, Vince"

Why was he so nice to me? Why were all of them so nice to me?...well most of them.

"Good" the elevator opened to a room, with an entire wall that was glass, light accented, god, I really need to explore this place, there's so much.

Vince opened the door for me.

"Where are we going?" I asked stepping out, my eyes not leaving his, his lips stretched into a smile, a slightly sad one at my question.

"Breakfast, kiddo"

"I'm not a kid"

"Try that in a few years" He tucked a strand of my hair behind my ear and then I looked at the gardens I was looking over yesterday.

"Woah" I whispered and he led me through it, the spots over the whole backyard like place with plants, bars, and pool to the other side which was like a royal garden, beautiful flowers bloomed in the bushes, and the scent was so fresh, there were few dew drops on leaves

I saw Alina sitting at the head of a table in a small shaded area, a breakfast feast laid out before her, yet she just had a cup of black coffee, a croissant, her eyes focused on the laptop's screen.

I noticed they seemed to have breakfast together, at least see each other during the morning before they left to do whatever with their days.

"Good morning" Alina glanced at me.

"Good morning" I replied sitting down on the chair Vince pulled.

Why were we here today though...

"Landon told us, you were looking at it" Vince blinked at me, buttering his toast, Alina closed her laptop after typing something in, and put it aside, reaching over to pick up a pastry. What looked like a pastry.

I took a toast as well and put jam on it, I didn't have an eating disorder, at least I think I didn't, I just struggled with the amounts I was suddenly been getting, I wasn't used to it, moreover, Aunt's voice rang in my head every time I took a little more food than I usually did telling me I didn't need it, that I was fat.

Soon Austin joined, his hair damp, and filled his plate with scrambled eggs, toast, something with tomato in it, and slipped into the seat next to me.

"You're up early." He nudged me and I blushed yet again, choosing to chew on my toast.

He filled his glass with orange juice, what looked like it at least, filled in a large glass jug.

"Juice?" He looked at the three of us.

I nodded and he poured it for me too before setting it down.

"Thanks"

"MORNING KIDDIES, BEAUTIFU"-

"Shut the fuck up!"

"Grump."

Justin and Landon entered, Justin was as usual his carefree self while Landon was half asleep and half...whatever you call his mood.

"He's hungover" Justin commented with slight amusement as he filled his glass with orange juice while standing up and then looked at Alina. "Lina?"

"Yes?"

"I lost my tie" He sat down and Austin cleared his throat giving him a 'really' look to which Justin mouthed a what, reaching for an eclair.

Vince cleared his throat. Justin put a few pieces of watermelon onto his plate.

"How come you aren't groaning with a killer headache?"

"Because both I and my date for the night decided to have sex all night."

"Can you talk a little less?" Landon grunted, I just watched their interaction, chewing my toast (The second one).

"I doubt you want one right this moment" Alina answered Justin's previous question, Austin fake coughed.

"Do you need cough syrup?"

Austin gave Justin a look and the realisation finally dawned upon him, and he nodded, closing his eyes for a second as though pleased.

"Oh I found the card, it was in my school blazer."

"You lost it again?" Vince looked at Justin who shrugged carelessly.

"I found it."

"Careful with it, Justin." Alina looked at him "I'm not getting you another one if you lose it, so it would do you well to be a little careful with it, hm?"

"Yup" He finished whatever was in the glass, getting up.

"Who's taking you to school?"

I looked at Alina.

"Any one of you" Alina answered nonchalantly."I've already talked to the principal."

"Come on then" Justin nudged me as he walked by, I stood up.

"Have a good day" Vince smiled at me and I smiled back with a thank you, walking to where Justin had vanished.

"Good Luck!" Austin called out and I turned in time to see Alina nod and mouthed another thank you before running to catch up with Justin, who glanced at me, and then his lip curled.

"How're the small legs working for you?"

"Great" I answered with a huff, he opened a sports car, and I slid in the passenger's seat, he swerved the car out of the garage, driving towards the school.

~o~O~o~

Justin drove just as he did everything else. Carelessly.

"You know you could all go in the same car." I looked at him, his lip twitched he glanced at me for a brief second.

"Well then we couldn't race, baby, could we?"

"I'm not a baby"

"Yeah sure," He snorted music playing in the background.

I realised yesterday that we were bonding, and this? this was the first stage. See, I was quick to notice the nice way they were behaving with me wasn't how they behaved around each other, or siblings didn't treat each other like that. In the same way, even I wasn't as comfortable with them as to be anything but polite in a manner, it would take time.

They might realise how awful I am by then too.

But they were trying, in a way so was I. That brought me more comfort than it should have, I was becoming attached and I was scared, so scared but at the same time, I wasn't. I was safe and happy.

Scared, in danger, happy and safe.

Maybe I wasn't used to this wealth but maybe I was, I fit in rather quickly with it, much faster than I or anyone expected. At least I didn't gap at the cars anymore, so that's an improvement.

"So we've all attended the same school" Justin took a turn, his eyes on the road as he spoke.

Shoot for a second I forgot I was going to a freakin new school. Thanks for reminding me so I can overthink that too.

"And?"

"And no one should trouble you, the teachers might not be very fond of you because of your last name"

"Justin?"

"Hmm?"

"What'd you guys do?" I looked at my brother, his smirk widened as he pulled up in front of a large building.

"That's for us to know and for you to find out" I tried opening the door but it was locked so I turned to him.

"Now listen to me" He pointed at the door "Until I or the others come to get you or tell you a specific place to be, I don't want you outside."

"I'm not in pre-school" I sighed and he raised an eyebrow.

"It's not a joke, Aurora, either this or be homeschooled, understand?"

"Okay" I mumbled out, and his stern gaze flattered, he cupped my face and pressed a kiss onto my forehead.

"You'll be fine, trust me, okay?"

"Okay," I nodded.

"Good, we'll check on you during lunch, the office is..." He trailed when a boy walked up to his window and knocked on the glass.

Justin motioned two fingers, the guy let out what looked like an overdramatic sigh before leaning on the car.

"That's Rhydian, he was your baby friend"

"Baby friend?" I looked at Justin who nodded.

"Yeah you know when you were a tiny baby and he was 2. you used to have play dates, that's besides the point" Justin then tapped his finger on my pocket where my phone was. "Keep that on you, all the time. If anyone does anything suspicious, text us, call us and stay where you are."

"Okay," I nodded and then asked a question that was bothering me. "Is someone going to hurt me?"

"No one's going to even breath near you the wrong way." Justin looked at me and then joked "If someone does, we'll teach them out to breath the right way...ew that wasn't even funny."

The last bit made me laugh.

"Okay, chipmunk" His fingers tickled my stomach which just made me laugh more, he smiled. "Tell me what I just told you."

"No stepping out of the school unless you're there, always keep my phone on me and if anyone does something suspicious, call you."

"Okay, and you have all the emergency contacts there." He leaned back in his seat lazily, picked up a finger and unlocked the doors.

"Byee"

"Bye" He answered and as soon as I was out yelled. "BE A GOOD GIRL."

"JUSTIN?!"

The response to my flustered state was a roar of laughter, as the door closed and he drove away, leaving me in front of the gates of the massive school.

"And that is going to be the gossip for the entire month" A whistle made me turn around to face a guy with dirty blonde hair, with honey brown eyes. Rhydian. "I'm Rhydian if Justin conveniently forgot to tell you and you owe me ten bucks."

"Ten bucks?"

He smiled mischievously reaching to his pocket as we started walking and pulled a paper out.

"We made a bet when you were 3 and I was five, the shorter one owes the taller one ten dollars and you're still teeny."

'10 years, shorter fir..nd gawes the taller firnd $10.'

"We were geniuses" I looked at the spellings of all the words. Rhydian laughed.

"Nah that was all you."

"But I still have two years of it left" I gave the paper back to him and he shrugged.

"Must as well give up"

"Back off"

"Cute" He commented and I frowned.

"What?"

"You don't swear do you?"

"Well..."

He smirked shaking his head putting a finger up.

"Give it one year and you'll be swearing more than a sailor"

"Yeah, I really don't tha"-

"No but I'm being honest, he's so hot, I hate going to the club but if he's going to be there with perfect hair, perfect eyes, perfect jawline, perfect voice, perfect blood, perfect everything, I will go. I will go and I will sit, and I will watch without one single fucking complaint." I saw a girl with sparkling hazel eyes contrasting beautifully with the light shade of brown her skin was, and her dark hair falling behind her back.

"In your dreams, Fiona" The guy with curly brown hair on his head replied, rolling his eyes.

"Meet my friends" Rhydian looked at the pair, I waved. "That's Fiona, and he's Dev."

"How long have you two been dating for?" Fiona tilted her head "And why did I not know about this?"

If I was drinking water I would have choked. I just met this guy for god's sake or reunioned with him. Whatever.

"Why does she have Milo Black's eyes and Alina's...oh my god, you're a Black, aren't you?!"

"Hey" I shrugged, discomfort slowly crawling its way up. "I'm Aurora."

"You okay?" Rhydian looked at Fiona who nodded and then he commented. "You look like you're gonna pass out."

"Yeah, you might want to catch me" With that, she pretended to faint, Rhydian caught her by her elbow at the last moment pulling her up, rolling his eyes. "Behave, both of you."

"Yes, Dad." Dev muttered and then looked at me "Heya, Aurora."

"Hey"

"She's in our class"

"Wait really?" Dev raised his eyebrows and Fiona squealed.

"Yeah, great IQ." Rhydian nudged me and I smiled shyly, my fingers tucked into the bag's straps.

"Ryder's going to lose it" Fiona chuckled.

"You assholes, it's her first day" Dev shoo his head "Come on, I'll help you."

"No wait, I'll come too"

"Or you could simply go get the timetable while I spend some girl time with her" Fiona suggested, the guys shrugged.

"Come on." She urged them "I'll give you 5 bucks each"

"What do we look like? Charity cases?"

"10"

"Consider it done" They both immediately turned on their heels walking somewhere.

Okay, I want to go back home, snuggle into the cloud of a bed I was given and read Wattpad, please.

"I have a crush on your brother and young Leonardo DiCaprio."

I blinked.

Well, that was very straightforward.

"I just thought I'd get it out of the way so that you already know but I'm not going to ever use you because that's a very bitchy and Kylie Crane kind of thing to do, I am obviously way better"

I would have taken the words the wrong way if it weren't for her smile, which looked so genuine.

"Who's Kylie Crane?"

"Me." Another voice spoke up, indifferent green eyes met mine, a girl with blonde hair looked at me and then at Fiona.

"Do yourself a favour, Fiona and shut up."

"Do yourself a favour, Kylie and go buy some human decency."

Kylie was already walking away.

"Wow" I looked at the girl and then at the other girl.

"I know" Fiona sighed "I can't believe I have to see her so often."

"Here" Rhydian handed me, my schedule, Fiona looked over my shoulder.

"Okay, you have homeroom with Dev, first alone, second with me, third with Rhydian, fourth with us both, fifth we all have together, sixth is with Rhydian and Dev, Seventh is with me and Dev." She took a deep breath before continuing "We have unch after 5th period, there are clubs for you to join" Rhydian handed me another paper. "You have a week to decide which ones, you want and you can sit with us at lunch."

"She has all of our timetables memorized like the fucking weirdo she is."

"Go fuck yourself."

"Here or should I go to the men's room for some privacy?"

I looked away, a blush creeping up while Dev burst into laughter, Fiona grumbled something, Rhydian just grinned cheekily.

And then the bell rang.

God, help my confused state.

_______________________________________________________________________

Okay so this chapter was supposed to be wayyy better and you were to meet Dustin in this one too, but it was dragging out and hard to write.

Quick recap: Fiona, Rhydian and Dev are her squad now (they'll get closer later but you can probably tell they are) Rhydian's her 'childhood' best friend, she doesn't remember any of it obviously.

Next chapter will definitely be better, hopefully.

Feel free to correct any errors.

ALSO ABOUT THE LATE UPDATE: I was deciding how relevant I wanted her schoolmates to be and who and how many, and the rivals and everything.

Okay byeeee.
