Hero Names

The Sports Festival was entertaining to watch for sure. All those in Class 1-A put their effort into the one-on-one battles and those were really fun to watch. [Name]'s favorite battles were Midoriya's and Todoroki's fight as [Name] was able to see Todoroki use his flames even though Endeavor was the most ecstatic to see those flames. Her next favorite battle was Uraraka and Bakugo because Bakugo didn't underestimate the girl and because Uraraka gave it her all despite knowing how Bakugo is. It pissed [Name] when the crowd was booing Bakugo simply because he was fighting a girl and she's glad that Aizawa checked the crowd too. Kirishima and Tetsutetsu was also an amusing battle as it was an arm wrestling match since the two boys have similar Quirks. Her last battle she liked was between Todoroki and Bakugo, seeing the two boys fight despite Bakugo being pissed about Todoroki not using his flames on him.

Towards the end of the festival, Bakugo had definitely won first place with Todoroki in second and Tokoyami in third. If [Name] remembers correctly, Iida left for a family emergency and [Name] hopes everything is okay. Despite the sports festival happening, The Hero Killer is out there and killing pro heroes and it's putting [Name] on edge slightly because if she were one of the targets, she wouldn't like to be injured. Another thing is that number that messaged her too.

Currently, [Name] is in the faculty room, sitting at her desk as she stares at her phone. She isn't sure who the unknown number is as her eyes read the text message over and over. The text message says: 'Hey, how are you doing?' [Name] hasn't responded as she's trying to remember if she ever gave her number out or if it's a deleted number. She's not sure.

"Hey [Last Name]?" Midnight called out, appearing at the young woman's side. "Something the matter?"

[Name] looks up. "Huh? Oh, it's nothing really. Hey, is it all right if I ask you something?"

"Is it about the students picking the hero names?" Midnight asked, tilting her head.

"No, it's something that's happening in my personal life," [Name] informed. Midnight takes the seat besides her and [Name] lets out a shaky sigh. "Well, to start it off, Hawks have been helping me lately while I've been recovering. He's been walking me here and to home for the past two weeks and the night before the sports festival happened, we had dinner together at my place."

"I wonder why the media hasn't made this a big issue yet," Midnight commented.

[Name] nods her head. "Me too, but I'm not really concerned about that. That night, he had found... a picture of my ex and he didn't know that was my ex in the picture. Me and my ex is a very touchy subject and so Hawks was asking who my ex was to me until I got angry and told him. My ex wasn't the best towards me so I told Hawks to leave." Midnight nods her head, indicating that she's listening. "The next morning, Hawks apologized about that night. I'm still upset at him, but... I guess I should be asking if I should still be upset at him."

Midnight places her hand on top of [Name]'s, giving her a kind smile. "I think you should just calm down until you're not upset at him anymore. I think he knew that you were getting angry about the picture, but humans get curious." Midnight smiles at [Name]. "I think that Hawks knew he messed up and he apologized to you the next morning too. I think that's his way of trying to make it up to you. Sometimes, men just give us more time than we actually need or they don't apologize right off the bat." Midnight chuckles, leaning back in the seat. "I think Hawks cares about you."

[Name] smiles at Midnight. "Thank you."

Aizawa walks into faculty room, his eyes locking onto [Name]'s. "It's time, [Last Name]."

"Okay, Aizawa!" [Name] said, standing up.

[Name] walks over to Aizawa, noticing that his bandages are gone. She smiles at him brightly and Aizawa nods his head when he looks at her. Aizawa looks over at Midnight.

"You can enter the class after 5 minutes or when I call out to you," Aizawa stated.

Midnight said something to him, but Aizawa is already walking away. [Name] follows after him, walking beside the man as her hands are behind her back. [Name] has her gaze on the ground, wondering if Aizawa went to Recovery Girl so she could heal his injuries. She even noticed the scar underneath his eye too.

Aizawa looks at the young woman beside him. "Later today, go see Recovery Girl so she can heal your injuries."

"Okay," [Name] said, nodding her head.

[Name] and Aizawa make it to the classroom of Class 1-A. She exhales deeply when Aizawa puts his hand on the door and slides it open. Her and Aizawa enter the class, [Name] smiling brightly as she notices that everyone is present in the class. She's glad that they all look well since today is going to be pretty much an easy day without doing much besides picking hero names.

"Morning," Aizawa greeted.

"Good morning," [Name] greeted, nodding her head.

"Good morning!" The students replied.

"Ribbit. Mr. Aizawa, your bandages are gone," Asui commented. "I'm glad."

"That old lady went overboard with her treatment," Aizawa explained, rubbing the back of his head.

"Ms. [Last Name], how are you doing?" Uraraka asked, looking at the pro hero in concern.

[Name] smiles. "I'm good! I'm going to see Recovery Girl by the end of today."

"More importantly, we're having a special hero informatics class today," Aizawa stated, cutting off the chit-chat.

"Here it is!"

[Name] chuckles to herself, feeling the tension rise with the students. She's curious about what today might be for them, but after what Aizawa says, their tension should disappear.

"Code names," Aizawa informed, [Name]'s smile widening when she sees the relieved look on the students' faces. "You'll be coming up with hero names."

"We're gonna do something exciting!"

Aizawa's eyes turn red, his hair flaring as everyone shuts up. "This is related to the pro hero draft picks I mentioned the other day. The drafts begin in earnest in the second and third years, after students have gained experience and can become immediate assets to pros. In other words, for them to extend offers to first years like you shows that they are interested in your future potential. These offers are often cancelled if that interest dies down by graduation."

"Adults are so selfish!" Mineta whispered, hitting his desk.

"So we'll have to prove ourselves once we get picked, huh?" Hagakure asked.

"That's right. And here are the totals for those with offers," [Name] answered, she presses a button and the results appear beside her.

It says: Class A No. of Offers then it lists everyone's names. Todoroki is at the top with Bakugo underneath then Tokoyami, Iida and everyone else. [Name] wasn't expecting Todoroki and Bakugo having the most offers because normally is spread out within the students. She noticed that Midoriya didn't get any offers.

"Normally, the offers are more spread out, but all eyes are on Bakugo and Todoroki this year," [Name] stated, her eyes going over to the two boys.

"Gah, there's such a big difference!" Kaminari gasped, throwing his head back.

"Those pros don't know a good thing when they see one!" Aoyama complained.

Jiro's eyes are wide. "Todoroki's first, and Bakugo's second...?"

"It's the opposite of their placement in the sports festival," Kirishima commented.

"Some people are too scared to ask for a guy who had to be restrained on the podium," Sero whispered, pointing to Bakugo.

Bakugo looked over at Sero with a scary glare. "What're the pros scared of?!"

"You're amazing, Todoroki," Yaoyorozo commented, looking at Todoroki.

"They're probably all because of my dad," Todoroki voiced.

"Wow, we got offers!" Uraraka said, shaking Iida.

"Yes, yes."

Mineta shook Midoriya. "Midoriya, you didn't get any! They're scared of you 'cause of the crazy way you were fighting."

"Yeah..."

"Keeping these results in mind, whether or not anyone asked for you, you will all be participating in internships with pros," Aizawa continued, looking at his class.

"Internships?"

"Yeah..." Aizawa said, nodding his head. "At USJ, you aleady got to experience combat with real villains, but it will still be meaningful training for you to see pros at work firsthand."

"So that explains the hero names!" Sato said.

"Things are suddenly getting a lot more fun!" Uraraka added, smiling at Sato.

"Well, those hero names are still temporary, but if you're not serious about it..." Aizawa trailed off.

The door to the classroom and Midnight burst in. "...you'll have hell to pay later!" [Name] smiles, seeing the woman walk confidently over to her and Aizawa. "Because a lot of hero names used by students become recognized by society, and they end up becoming professional hero names!"

"Midnight!" Mineta, Kaminari, and Sero exclaimed.

"Well, that's how it is," Aizawa summarized. "So Midnight will be making sure your names are okay. I can't do stuff like that." Aizawa bent down to grab his yellow sleeping bag. "When you give yourself a name, you get more concrete image of what you want to be like in the future, and you can get closer to it. This is what it means when they say, 'Names and natures do often agree.' Like 'All Might,' for example."

"[Name], can you pass out the whiteboards?" Midnight asked, smiling at her.

"Sure!" [Name] voiced.

[Name] grabs the small whiteboards, going down the roads and handing each whiteboard to a student. She's curious to see what the students are going to come up with for their hero names. She's positive there's going to be a few funny ones from those in the class. She hopes the students have creativity to them for these.

"Okay, let's start presenting names starting with those who are ready," Midnight announced, [Name] is next to Midnight's side.

She noticed a few students tense up, they probably weren't expecting to present these hero names. [Name] smiles widely, seeing Aoyama walk up to the podium while Midnight and [Name] stepped to the side, waiting for him to reveal his hero name on the whiteboard.

"Here I go..." Aoyama said, lifting the whiteboard with the name facing him. "'Shining Hero: I can not stop twinkling!'" Aoyama held the whiteboard above his head and spoke in English. "Which means, you can't stop my sparkles!"

"It's a sentence!"

"It'll be easier to use if you take out the 'I' and shorten the 'can not' to 'can't," Midnight informed, grabbing his whiteboard and changing a few things.

"You're right, mademoiselle," Aoyama confessed.

"It's okay?"

"Anyway, choose one--English or French!" Sato added.

"Then, I'll go next!" Mina shouted, jumping in front of the class. "Hero name, 'Alien Queen'!"

"Two! Are you trying for the thing with acidic blood?" Midnight questioned, having a disapproving look. "I wouldn't if I were you!"

"Dang it," Mina said, walking back to her desk.

Asui raised her hand. "Ribbit. Then, may I go next?"

"Go ahead, Tsu," Midnight said, pointing at her.

"I've had this in mind ever since I was in elementary school," Asui explained, revealing her whiteboard. "Rainy Season Hero: Froppy."

"That's so cute! It seems friendly. I like it!" Midnight said, nodding her head with approval. "It's a great example of a name that everyone will love!"

"Froppy! Froppy! Froppy! Froppy!" The class starts to chant.

"Thanks, Froppy! You've brought things back to normal!"

Kirishima stands in the front of the class. "Then, I'll go too! Sturdy Hero: Red Riot!"

"Red Riot? You're paying homage to the Chivalrous Hero: Crimson Right, right?" Midnight questioned.

"Yes. It's pretty old-fashioned, but the hero image I'm going for is Crimson himself," Kirishima explained, rubbing the back of his head.

Midnight smiled at Kirishima. "If you're bearing a name you admire, it'll come with that much more pressure."

"I'm prepared for that!" Kirishima responded, clenching his hand into a fist.

[Name] nods her head, seeing that the hero name is going along smoothly. Only person to be rejected with their name is Ashido, but [Name] isn't one to help with hero names. She's glad that Midnight is good at stuff like this especially since [Name] didn't even pick her name. Her younger brother was the one to give her the hero name that just stuck with her.

"Hearing Hero: Earphone Jack," Jiro said, a smile on her features.

"That's good! Next!" Midnight commented.

"Tentacle Hero: Tentacole."

"It's like tentacle with some octopus thrown in!"

"Taping Hero: Cellophane."

"Nice and simple! That's important!"

"Martial Arts Hero: Tailman."

"Your name reflects your body!"

"Sweets Hero: Sugarman!"

"So sweet!"

"Pinky!"

"Peachy pink complexion!"

"Stun Gun Hero: Chargebolt!"

"Oh, I feel tingly!"

"Stealth Hero: Invisible Girl!"

"That's great! Come on, let's keep right on going!" Midnight exclaimed, thrusting her arm out.

"I hope I will not bring shame to this name. Everything Hero: Creati."

"Creative!"

[Name] smiles widely. "Your hero names are going good! A lot of them already seem likable, too!"

Todoroki stands up from his desk, walking to the front of the class and he stands at the podium. He reveals the writing on the whiteboard. "Shoto," Todoroki said, holding the whiteboard in front of him.

Midnight looks at the whiteboard. "Your name? Is that okay?"

"Yeah."

"I don't know any heroes who used their real name as their hero name," [Name] whispered to Midnight. "Do you know any pro heroes that use their real names as hero names?"

Midnight shakes her head. "Not that I know of."

"Jet-Black Hero: Tsukuyomi."

"God of the night!"

"Fresh-Picked Hero: Grape Juice!"

"Pop and kitschy!"

Koda stands at the podium, revealing his whiteboard to show Petting Hero: Anima written on the board.

"Okay, got it!"

Bakugoo stands at the podium. "King Explosion Murder," Bakugo said, a scary expression on his features.

Midnight held a serious expression. "You probably shouldn't use something like that."

"Why not?!" Bakugo exploded.

"You should be 'Explosion Boy'!" Kirishima yelled, ticking off Bakugo.

"Shut up, Shitty Hair!" Bakugo yelled, clenching his hand into a fist.

[Name] laughed, covering her mouth with her hand. She didn't think Bakugo would pick a name that has murder in it especially if it's a hero name he's trying to pick. She laughed a little harder especially when Kirishima suggested a hero name to Bakugo too. 'Explosion Boy' would fit Bakugo until he's no longer a boy.

Bakugo threatened the boys while the boys teased Bakugo. Uraraka stands up from her desk and she walks to the front of the class. She looked nervous and [Name] calms herself to stop her laughing.

"This is what I thought of: Uravity," Uraraka said, looking at her classmates.

"Sounds stylish!" Midnight said, standing at the front of the class. Uraraka walks back to her desk. "Choosing a hero names is going more smoothly than I thought it would! All that's left is Bakugo, who needs to rethink his, and Iida. And Midoriya, right?"

Iida walks to the front of the class after writing his name down. Iida's whiteboard has his first name and [Name] figured that Iida is the second one to pick his own name to be his hero name. She doesn't mind and she's sure that Iida and Todoroki could gain the attention of the public without a flashy name.

"You're using your first name, too?" Midnight questioned. Iida doesn't say anything and he walks back to his desk. "Midoriya, are you ready?"

"Y-Yes!" Midoriya exclaimed. He stands up from his desk and walks to the front, holding his whiteboard to his chest. Midoriya turns his whiteboard over and his hero names surprises everyone.

His hero name is Deku. [Name] raised an eyebrow, knowing that Bakugo calls Midoriya Deku and so does Uraraka, but she's aware that Bakugo calls Midoriya Deku with venom while Uraraka uses it as a nickname.

"Midoriya?" Mineta asked.

"Are you really okay with that?" Kaminari questioned.

Kirishima chimes in. "You might be called that forever, you know."

"Yeah. I didn't like this name until now," Midoriya explained, lowering his gaze. "But someone has changed the meaning of it, and that had a huge impact on me. It made me really happy." [Name] glanced over at Uraraka. "This is my hero name!"

"Lord Explosion Murder!" Bakugo yelled.

Midnight looked at Bakugo. "No, that's still no good."

----

"Now that everyone's decided on their hero names, we'll go back talking about the internships," Aizawa announced, standing at the front of the desk with [Name] at his side. "They will last for a week. As for where you'll have them, those who had offers from pros will be given your own lists, so you can choose from those yourself. Those who didn't have offers will choose from among forty agencies around the country that will be accepting our interns. They all work in different places and have different specialties."

"For example, Thirteen would be focused on rescues from accidents and disasters more than fighting villains," Midnight explained, standing besides Aizawa.

"Think carefully before you choose," [Name] suggested, smiling at the class kindly.

"Yes, sensei!"

[Name] looks around the classroom, seeing the students start to chat among themselves. She's glad to see them excited again especially with the upcoming internships. She's curious to see where they're going to go for their internships.

"Turn in your choices before the weekend," Aizawa informed.

"We've only got two days?!" Sero yelled.

"Make your decision efficiently," Aizawa added, walking towards the exit and [Name] follows after him. "Dismissed."

"The incident involving Ingenium in Hosu City, Tokyo. The escaping culprit had already killed 17 heroes in the past and hurt 23 heroes beyond recovery-- The elusive hero killer. Villain name: Stain."

[Name] looks at the TV in worry, sitting on her couch as she was watching the news. She knows that Iida is related to Ingenium and that probably the family reason he had to leave the sports festival. She wonders how Iida is doing with this whole incident and perhaps she should keep a close eye on him.

Someone rings [Name]'s doorbell and she stands up, raising an eyebrow. She walks over to her door, unlocking it and she opens it up, seeing Hawks standing at her doorstep. Hawks is still in his hero clothes and his hands are in his pockets. [Name] drops her arms, finally being able to have the cast off her arms and her wing is nearly perfect condition. Recovery Girl healed [Name] a lot when she visited her.

"Hawks?" [Name] asked, tilting her head. "What are you doing here?"

Hawks gives her a half a smile. "I was wondering how you're doing. I see your bandages are off."

"Yeah, Recovery Girl healed me," [Name] informed, having her hands behind her back. "Would... Would you like coffee or tea?"

Hawks blinks at her a few times before he nods his head. "Sure. Tea is fine."

[Name] steps back, going into the kitchen as Hawks steps into her home. He closes the door behind him as he goes to sit at the kitchen table. [Name] prepares to boil some water for Hawks, standing at the stove and her eyes watch the still water, waiting to see bubbles appear in the water. She hears a chair scrap against the floor.

She flinches, feeling arms graze her side and she tenses up, her eyes going to Hawks's gloved hands as he lowers the stove top. [Name] originally set the stovetop to a 7 so the water could boil faster, but Hawks sets it down to a 3. She turns her head to the side, her heart hammering in her chest from Hawks being so close to her. Her blush deepens especially when the man doesn't remove his arms and his hands grab at the handle on the oven.

"[Last Name], I'm genuinely sorry," Hawks started. His head is low, his eyes focusing on the floor as his hair is touching [Name]'s back. "I don't know how long it's going to take for you to forgive me, but I'll do whatever I can."

[Name] lets out a shaky breath. "I just... I'm still upset, but I'm not angry at you anymore. You were only curious and I could really use a drink tonight too."

When Hawks steps back, [Name]'s blush disappears on her cheeks and she turns around to face Hawks. She gives him a timid smile before she looks away from him and she turns the stove off completely. She walks over to her liquor cabinet, opening it up and grabbing a bottle of sake. She holds it up, the blue pastel glass in her hands as she lifts it up.

"Want to drink with me, drinking buddy?" [Name] asked, smiling at him nervously.

Hawks smiles softly, nodding his head. "Sure."

[Name] and Hawks walk over to her kitchen table, the two pro heroes siting down while [Name] pours the sake into two glass cups for her and Hawks. Hawks watches her hands as she pours the alcohol and she hands him his cup. He holds it in his hands and waits for [Name] to hold her own.

"I'm glad that my drinking buddy is feeling better," Hawks voiced, smiling at the woman.

[Name] lifts her drink, nodding her head. "I'm glad that I'm feeling better so I can drink again."

The two of clink their glasses gently, downing the alcohol in the cups as they throw their heads back. The two pro heroes continue to drink, although it was mostly [Name] finishing 70% of any alcohol bottles while Hawks was tipsy and [Name] is drunk.

"You all have your costumes, right?" [Name] asked, the students standing in front of her and Aizawa. "Remember, you aren't allowed to wear them in public. Don't drop them or forget them."

"Yesma'am!" Mina exclaimed.

"Speak clearly! It's 'yes, ma'am,' Ashido!" Aizawa scolded.

"Yes, sir and ma'am," Ashido mumbled, pouting her lips.

"Make sure you mind your manners with the heroes at your internships!" Aizawa reminded, [Name] waves at the students. "Off with you, now."

"Yes, sir!"

[Name] and Aizawa watch the students get onto their trains or walk more into the train stations. Today is when the students are gonna start their internships while [Name] and Aizawa get to relax a little bit. More so Aizawa is going to relax as [Name] has to go on patrol while the students are doing their internships.

Aizawa turns to [Name]. "You want to explain your relationship with Hawks?"

"Huh? We're friends," [Name] stated, confusion written on her features.

"That's not what the media thinks," Aizawa said.

[Name] raised an eyebrow, her eyes widening when she lets out a loud gasp and she takes out her phone. She always wondered why haven't her and Hawks been mentioned on any news outlets for a while since he's been escorting her, but now it seems like [Name] is due for an interview as there's a very scandalous picture of Hawks leaving her house with very, very messy hair and his clothes that he let [Name] borrow is on his person in the picture, too.

There's two pictures, one that shows Hawks standing on her doorstep in his hero clothes and the setting is at night. The second picture is Hawks leaving her home and he's not wearing his hero clothes with a disheveled appearance while the setting is early in the morning. There's already articles about them and there's a 3 minute video with news anchors talking about the two of them.

[Name] looks at Aizawa. "I swear we are friends, Aizawa. It's not like what they're trying to suggest."

"I believe you, [Last Name]," Aizawa said, hope filling in [Name]'s eyes. "But right now, the media thinks you two are dating."
