Chapter 6

Saturday

6:30 pm

I heard loud knocking coming from my front door. Before I left my room to open the door I grabbed my gun. When I opened my front door there was an officer there. "It happened again", one of the officers said to me. There ended up being another murder. It was my next door neighbor. I was surprised by what happened but for some reason I expected something bad was going to happen. I got dressed into proper clothing and went over there with the officer. When we got there I almost threw up. The person's body was torn up in all sorts of disgusting ways. He was tied to a tree and it looked like he was shot with hundreds of nails. It was hard to even recognize him, it was Gabriel. I met him a few years ago at high school and we have been friends since. The reason I say he was shot was because of the nail gun on the ground. "Do you know who he was"? Said a voice I didn't recognize but when I turned around I saw that it's just an officer walking up to me. "Yes" I did, I said to him. "Who was he"? He said. "He was one of my friends", I said. "What was his name"? The cop asked. "Gabriel", I said, "he was a pretty cool dude". He was also one of my friends. "Sarah"! Someone yelled while running up to me. "Oh hey Jordan" I said. "Hey", he said, "are you ok". "Yea I am", I said back, "I'm just sick of this, all of these murders". "I know," he said, "I want it to end too". We grabbed each other's hands and squeezed them together. I shouldn't be doing this. But what's wrong with me doing it? I have no interest in boys anyway. So there's no issue with it. "Hey, are you sure that you're ok?" he asked. "Yea like I said I'm ok", I said to him. "I'm going to go home", I said. "Ok" he said, "stay safe". So I just go back home and lay in bed. How do I catch them? They seem to be really stealthy, so that is going to be an issue. Maybe, it would be a little risky but I could try to call them and tell them to meet me at a location. But it might not work. It is worth a shot. I'm going to do it. I pick up my phone and look through my recent calls. It took me a little bit but I finally found it and called. That's when someone on the other end picked up. But still all there was, was breathing on the other end. But still after ten minutes they never said a word or hung up. But that's when I picked up the courage to say something. "Hello", I said. "It's about time?" said the person on the other end. So they are a girl, how interesting but they could be using a voice changer. "I'm one of your surviving victims", I said. That is when the person went quiet. Then after a few seconds they finally said something. "So you are and why did you call me?" they said. "I want to meet you in person", I said. "Why would I do that when you could have a chance to end me when I could just not do it and keep my murders going", they said. "Because if you end me you can stop worrying about me finding you" I said. "But you never will", they said, "you can't find me because you are too weak and stupid to". "I will find you one way or another", I said angrily, "and you will not get away with this". "But I already have," they said, "but Since I am bored I will accept your offer and meet you face to face, but there is only one rule: you cannot bring more than one person". That is when I hesitated. "Take it or don't bother me again", they said. "Fine, I accept your offer", I said. "Good", they said, "where do you want to meet?" "Meet me tomorrow at the public park on Mary street at 9:30pm", I said. "Ok I will and remember the rule you can only bring one person", they said just before they hung up. Sigh. I'm going to bring Jordan since he is a junior cop and has some training. I'm not going to bring Cassidy because she won't be much help. She has very low combat experience. But I don't know if Jordan will even come over to help since he might be busy. But he most likely will since he wants this to end just as much as me. But we will see. I need to get some rest though because tomorrow is going to be a weird day. Also because it's 8:20 pm. So I need to get to bed.
