Chapter One

GUN'S POV

I stared at the coffee shop's window... I always wanted this, to have my own coffee shop, my own spot in my coffee shop but I didn't really imagined things will feel this lonely. I imagined a whole different life than this one.

I checked my phone when it vibrated in front of me, I was supposed to meet Chimon today, my younger cousin, he needs help with a subject since we both took film for college. I looked up when I read that he's already here in my shop.

"You know your spot really looks lonely P'Gun" He said. This kid still uses our Thai courtesy even if we already moved to New York.

"Pim will do some re-arranging when she visits here" I said

"Aren't we supposed to visit them at Thailand not the other way around?" Chimon asked taking a bite of my chicken pot pie on my table.

He has been looking forward to going home to Thailand when he graduates, which is just around the corner, to be honest, I've put going home aside for the longest while because of stuff but now it kind of gives me the anxiety of going back to where it all started...

"That's gonna depend on how good you'll be for the last semester Chi, come on finish that food and let's go my shooting studio for today, you have a lot to do as my intern" I said as I sipped on my iced caramel macchiato letting my thoughts drift away.

I've been here in New York for 3 years now, I've decided to leave Thailand ever since I graduated and did not wasted my time, I started as an apprentice in a filming industry until I've become a director around a year ago... This is everything I ever wanted, to move to New York, or Los Angeles, hollywood has been the dream but maybe hollywood could wait a little more as I figure my life out.

The coffee shop is actually the idea of someone so dear to me, but I guess some dreams are meant to be fulfilled alone. I wanted to bring my friends here but we're just too busy with works and we can't seem to find the time to hang out.

The going back to Thailand part is actually not part of my plan but I received a news from Pim that she now lives with grandma and that grandma wants me back there too. I wanted to say no but she has been the one taking care of us for a long while now, plus I've found investors to my coffee shop branch in Thailand, my friends also wants to collaborate on our own production company... which leads me back to the person I've been running from... someone I've hurted so much...

"Chi, you didn't look at the camera angles, look at the blocking of this one" I pointed out the shot where the actors are barely seen on the frame.

"Fix that angle now" I said to my staff.

"Stop laughing there or you're gonna need a new place to finish your internship" I warned Chimon who has been laughing beside me.

It was a long day filming and I decided to head back to my coffee shop before I end my day.

"Come on, nobody gets drunk with Chai Tea Lattes and Iced Coffee, let's go out P'Gun" Chimon said.

"If you wanna party go ahead, I won't tell your parents" I told him.

"P'Gun you are working so much, you are already rich, what are you gonna do with that money anyway? Buy more designer stuff and make your apartment crowded with it? Come on, just tonight" He told me

I sighed and finally gave in to his offer, Chimon can often look so serious but to be very honest, he is soooooo playful that sometimes it annoys me but Chimon has been the only family I had ever since I moved here.

"Remember the good old days back in Thailand P'Gun? When Pim gets really mad because she has to take care of us... and P'Oab... oh sorry" Chimon said in the shotgun seat and suddenly became quiet when he mentioned his name...

I was caught off guard too when Chimon mentioned his name, he is a sensitive topic for me after all these years... it still hurts a lot, but I know I've hurted him more with everything that I've done...

"Chimon? talk about something, anything" I said as I fought the tears that are starting to form.

"Sorry P'Gun" He said

"Remember that Malibu Trip we've been planning? Wanna do that next weekend" I said trying to dodge the topic that was brought up a while ago

"Yeah sure, I heard LANY is playing for the weekend fair, I can get tickets, you arrange the flight and hotel" Chimon said.

Great, my favorite band in Malibu, maybe I'm not yet done crying over things from the past... I immediately ordered shots when we got to the bar. I wanna get drunk today. Some of Chimon's friends are here and I also saw some of the few friends I have here...

Tonight... I need to forget.

CHIMON'S POV

I woke up on the sofa of P'Gun's apartment with a headache, I got pretty drunk last night, I remembered a friend of P'Gun bringing us home. I tried finding P'Gun until I heard him rushing for the toilet, haha he's drunk AF last night that he passed out.

"Chimon, get some coffee ready and order some breakfast for us" He yelled when he finished his business.

I decided to order some McDonald's for us for breakfast because we are both suffering from the headache that the hang-over caused.

"Chi, your girlfriend is calling" He said as I saw him looking at my phone on the coffee table.

"Yeah, I'm going out with Dae today. I'll also go back to my dorm, will you be fine after breakfast?" I asked P'Gun. Looking at him right now, he looks like he's just gonna sleep all day.

"Yeah, I'll sleep some more" He said.

Sometimes I don't really wanna leave P'Gun alone, I know how tough times are for him these past few years. He has scars from his past that aren't healed yet, I feel so bad for him when he decided to go back to Thailand, I know going back to everything that hurted him may wreck what's left of him or heal him...
