Chapter 19

"Um," I stuttered.

She raised her eyebrows at me.

"Well, just how awesome you are," Percy tried.

"Don't flatter me Perceus," Piper said,
sounding a lot like my mom.

"Okay, fine!" I couldn't take it anymore.

Piper looked at me, curious while Percy looked at me like I was crazy.

"Percy and I have been going out," I confessed.

"Well are you gonna tell me the real problem?" Piper asked, laughing.

"I did."

She stopped laughing and narrowed her eyes.
"You guys did what?" She asked almost screaming.

"Just kiss a bunch of times," Percy said.

"So you didn't sleep together?"

Percy and I looked at each other.

"No, no no no, what why?" We said off beat.

She looked at us. "You did didn't you?"

"Yep," Percy and I said.

She screamed.

"You are in so much trouble," she said pointing at Percy.

"And you," my best friend pointed at me, "I don't ever wanna see your face for the rest of my life."

"Piper," I protested.

"No, go away and stay away from my brother!"
She screamed, tears streaming down her face.

"Pipes..." Percy tried.

"I don't wanna talk to you Percy."

I don't think I ever saw Percy cry before. For years, he was my best friend's big brother. Now I saw him as the love of my life that was tested away from my like I was in a rom-com movie.

One month later

Summer just started, and I had no idea what to do. Forever, I had hung out with Piper all summer but now, since we haven't talked since that night in the airport, I called Cal and Hazel and invited them over. They showed up ten minutes later.

"Beth!" Hazel said.

"First day of summer and now we can do whatever we want- we're free!" Calypso said.
I suddenly felt something weird- a feeling to throw up. I ran to the bathroom, Hazel and Cal at my heels. I opened the toilet seat, and threw up, while Hazel held my hair back.

"What's the matter?" Hazel asked.

"I dunno. I've been throwing up for a week, then feeling fine so Thalia let me go to school."

"Any other symptoms?" Cal asked.

"I've been running out of breath quickly, and I think that's it," I said.

"Ya know, when my sister was pregnant, she had the same symptoms," Cal said.

"What? I'm not pregnant!" I said.

"Well we should get a test."

So Cal drove to the nearest drug store, returning less than ten minutes later.

We went back to the bathroom and they stood outside, allowing me to pee on the little stick.
For five minutes we waited then two little lines appeared on the stick. I screamed. Calypso and Hazel came in. I was pregnant.
