Abditory

In the closet, my fears slip away,

In the closet, I feel safe.

In the house, I feel bare and exposed,

In the house, Mommy's temper tantrums keep me on my toes.

In my school, loud bangs sound in the hall,

In my school, my teacher cries while telling us to hide under her desk and says she loves us all.

Under my covers, no monsters can attack,

Under my covers, no light seeps in under the blanket—it's pitch black.

In my closet, under the desk; in the house under my sheets,

I am safe and out of harm's way, I am safe for another day.
