As the bus came to a Holt on the old worn down bus station , you stood to get of with boyfriend Eugene. you had both beet dating for 2 years but due to the war , He hadn't ever got to meet your parents.You weren't worried about what your mother would say as she knows you really love him , it was your father you where worried about.He was a cold hearted man who didn't like the fact you were dating someone.Eugene took your hand as you both got off the bus.you looked about trying to spot your parents.as you saw your parents you looked at Eugene and smiled.You rushed to your parents as your hand broke out of Eugene's. You hugged your mother as your father hugged the both of you.He then looked up to Eugene as the hug broke."mum , dad , this is Eugene , my Partner" you smiled."It's lovely to meet you Eugene"Your Mother smiled.You dad looked him up and down and chuckled while shaking his head.Your mother lightly elbowed his stomach to cut it out."Come on , the car is just over here" your mother smiled.Eugene was going to pick your bag up but your father picked it up before he got a chance.You gave your dad a look to be nice but your dad wasn't having it.You took Eugene's hand once again and headed to the car.

Once you had gotten to your house and gotten to where you and Eugene where staying and started unpacked.Eugene then hugged you from behind and kissed your head."Honey , with all due respect , I'm getting your dad isn't a big fan of me" Eugene whispered in your ear."He will Eugene trust me , it's hard for someone to not like you" you smiled.You turned around and kissed him softly.You then Heard your bedroom door open."Y/N your mum wants to see you" your dad said just standing their."Oh okay I'll just be through" you said walking past him."So , Eugene , what did you do in the army ?" Your dad asked looking him up and down."I was a medic , sir" Eugene said."A medic huh , fair play" your dad sighed.you returned to the room to see your dad still taking with Eugene."You both okay in here" you sighed."Yea , where both fine" your dad said with a slight smile.He left as you went over to Eugene."That's dinner ready , love" you said kissing his cheek.he smiled softly as you did that.

Once you where half way through your meal , your dad started to talk about his work , like usual which always bored you like crazy.Once you and your mum had taken then plates over , he brought up one of his medals he had gotten during WW1."You where in the war too" Eugene asked politely."Yea I was , i was in the tank corpse for the last 2 years when I was old enough to join" He said taking another sip of his beer."Tank corpse , hard training other than airborne is what our company used to say " Eugene smiled.It made your dad chuckle.'maybe this might go well , dad never brings up his time in the war' you thought.The night seemed to fly by as your dad and Eugene started to get along more, you mum seemed happy that your dad wasn't trying to break his personality, you knew you had found the person you wanted to marry.
