Bonus Chapter: Prom.

A white stretch limousine pulled up outside my house, it was a beautiful car but it wasn't the thing I focused on first and foremost because something out shadowed the wow factor of our ride.

Liam.

He stood nervously in front of the limo holding a clear box with a single red rose inside. The fine, red silk of my dress flowed as my footsteps neared him and he pulled his head up to focus in on my whole ensemble.

"Hi" I said with a shy smile.

"Liv you're so beautiful." He spoke like he couldn't quite believe I was his. He opened the little clear box to reveal a corsage on a pearl bracelet. I willingly held my wrist out for him to slide it on.

"It's gorgeous!" I exclaimed, instantly pulling him in and leaving the smallest of kisses on his lips.

Liam looked devilishly handsome in his tuxe, the top buttons of his shirt were undone and his bow tie was untied but I think he pulled off the messy look perfectly because I just wanted to rip his clothes off and do naughty things.

But we both knew we were not at that stage yet.

He entwined my fingers with his own and helped me into the limo where our friends waited. Jordan handed me a glass of champagne and I didn't even hesitate before taking it off him.

"This is it guys, the last goodbye before everyone goes in different directions to university." He raised his glass "Here's to every class we ditched, every girl we fucked, every game we won and every party we threw." He concluded.

"We're not toasting to that." Everyone erupted, dropping our glasses down.

"Fine." Jordan went quiet for a few seconds while he thought up a new toast. "Here's to our futures, may whatever path we take always lead us back to one another."

Liam squeezed my hand and I wondered if he subconsciously did it or if something Jordan said knocked his confidence a little. Either way I raised my glass and muttered 'To our future' with everybody else.

The whole of the gymnasium was decorated in an enchanted forest theme with vines and twinkly lights hanging in every direction. There was something so whimsical about it and I was instantly transported back to the moment of our first kiss.

We posed for pictures at the entrance and then I was dragged to the dancefloor by an eager Liam. The music had slowed down and I wrapped my arms around his shoulder as he rested his hands just above my hips.

"Are you nervous about what's next?" I asked quietly as I kept my eyes ready to assess his facial expressions.

His whole body tensed under my touch giving me the indication he was uncomfortable with my question, or uncomfortable with the unknown. After a few tense moments he sighed letting his shoulders raise and fall with the intensity of his breath.

"What does this mean for us Liv?" He finally plucked up the courage to ask. I smiled from ear to ear.

"I got into Santa Clara University, it's half an hour away from Stanford." Relief washed over him fully, he grabbed my waist and hoisted me up in the air, spinning me around the dancefloor above the heads of dancing people.

"Liam put me down!" I shouted with amusement.

"Wait, why didn't you tell me? I've been worrying." He set me down beside him and returned to our hugging embrace.

"Sorry. I just found out." I admitted.

"What are you studying?"

"Psychology. I want to become a therapist for children who have lived through abuse." I chewed the inside of my cheek, not sure how he would react to that.

"Liv." He said quietly and rubbed the back of his neck "That is..." his words choked up and he cleared his throat "That is amazing."

I smiled coyly and buried my head in the crevice of his neck, inhaling his familiar smell. There was no flinching from his body and I knew it was because he was prepared for our closeness since we were dancing but generally Liam had been doing okay with the unexpected touch and I couldn't be prouder of how far he has come.

"Let's go get drinks." Liam said after the fourth song and I nodded enthusiastically because my mouth felt parched.

"Hey, try the punch." Jordan said as he suspiciously guarded the punch bowl.

"You spiked the punch?" I asked, resulting in a eye roll from him.

"Real mature." Liam said sarcastically.

"I'm not meant to be mature, I don't have long to act like a high schooler." he grabbed the ladle and filled two clear cups up with red liquid and handed them to us.

I sipped diligently, there was more alcohol than there was punch.

"That's right Olive, maybe you'll finally put out for my boy Liam, it is prom night after all." Red punch blasted out of my lips and sprayed everywhere at Jordan's comment. I finished off my dramatic splutter with a coughing fit. Jordan just laughed at me in a carefree manner and then walked away.

"Sorry. I'll get him back for that later." Liam said shyly as he handed me a napkin from the punch table.

"You didn't tell them we hooked up?"

"No, it's none of their business, is it?" He replied straightly.

"No I guess not." I muttered, reluctant to mention that I told Tia the day after it happened.

We had only hooked up once, we were taking things at Liams pace. I knew he wasn't going to be magically cured after the first time we were intimate but now I know what it's like to be with him in that way I feel like a walking hormone constantly waiting for the next time.

"Prom night." He muttered under his breath as he reached up and rubbed the back of his neck "so much pressure" he added.

I grabbed his hand and planted a kiss to his knuckles to reassure him even though my body ached for it so badly.

"We're gonna go back to mine after this, grab a pizza on the way and curl up in bed with a Netflix movie. It's gonna be perfect."

He reached up and ran the back of his hand across my cheek with sympathetic eyes.

"Sorry." That small word was laced with so much shame.

"Don't be silly, we have the whole of our future to be together. Dorm sex, college parties, hometown reunions" I listed off all the things to look forward to and it made a smile tug at the corner of his lips.

"Yeah, you're right." He agreed.

"This is only the beginning."
