-Chapter One-

Baby Samuel looked at around her new apartment smiling. She had made it, she had finally gotten away from her parents and is living in the wonderful city of Los Angles, California. Baby had dealt with a lot of shit in her life.

She grew up in the South Side of Chicago, her parents had chosen drugs over her and her younger brother. She had fought tough and nail to get out of there. Baby was 15 she got her self emancipated, allowing her to legally get custody of her 7 year old brother and move. She spent 2 years and 3 months working and saving money so they could move to Los Angles and buy an apartment.

She is currently 16 years old, although she felt a lot older. Her brother, Zeke was born with down syndrome. She loves him a lot and is very protective over him. They both were gonna start school in a day and she was nervous on how the kids would treat him. She was also nervous for herself. Baby is starting her junior year in one day, she didn't even think she would be alive this long. Growing up in Chicago, she found family in a gang, they took care of her and Zeke when her parents couldn't but not with out her affiliating with them. Baby had gotten herself out of that but running with gangs doesn't go with out consequences.

"Sissyyyy, can you please make mac and cheese." Her brothers soft voice brought her out of her thoughts.

"Of course, are you excited for school tomorrow?" Baby started to pull out the newly bought ingredients from the cabinets.

"I don't know, what if the others make fun of me?" Zeke looked down at his hands.

"Well you tell them your big sissy will kick there asses." Baby kissed his head laughing.

"But don't say asses." Zeke giggled and hugged his sister.

"Now, go set the table while I finish up." She handed him forks and napkins to put on the table. He carefully set the table as Baby set  2 bowls of mac and cheese on the table. Zeke pushed himself up onto the chair and Baby sat across from him.

"Alright, time for grace." Baby grabbed Zekes hand and they closed their eyes.

"May god bless this food and allow us a better life, amen."

"Amen." Zeke dug into his food quickly, inhaling the mac and cheese.

"Careful." Baby wiped his face.

They had a nice dinner enjoying the new sounds of the city life around them. Baby helped Zeke take a bath, and they watched Zeke's favorite movie, The Bee Movie, until he fell asleep. Baby lifted him up and tucked him into bed. After turning on his fan and his night light, Baby went to her room. As soon as she layed down she was out.

Next Day

Baby got up at 6:30 to shower and get ready. She put her braids into two larger boxer braids, put on some natural makeup, because she do not be having money to spend on lashes, and  put on a cute outfit

(this is the outfit)

Baby started breakfast and made eggs and toast before waking up Zeke. She walked into his room and sat on his bed.

"Zeke, baby, time to get up." She rubbed his back.

"But whyyyy?" Zeke whined

"C'mon I made eggs."

"Really!" Zeke shot up.

"Yes, now lets get you dressed first." Baby laughed.

Zeke got dressed and they both had breakfast. They were now own there way to school. Baby had purposefully gotten an apartment about a quarter mile away from Zeke's school and about a half a mile from the High School.

We checked into the front desk, Zeke would be put in to a special ed class and everything was figured out. They stood in front of his classroom.

"Alright sweetie, here's your lunch, my phone number, and if any kids bother you, you tell me okay?" Baby handed him his lunch and her number written on a card attached to his backpack.

"Promise, ok bye baby." Zeke kissed her cheek and ran into his new class.

Baby smiled at her little brother and started her walk towards Sherman Oaks High School. It didn't take very long before she stood in the front office to collect her schedule.

"Hello, I'm new here, I need my schedule."

"Name?" The clearly aggravated middle age office lady asked Baby.

"Baby Samuel."

"Here you go." A small yellow slip was handed to Baby. On it had her schedule and locker number.

"Thank you." Baby left the office and walked off trying to find her locker. B372, Good news, she had found her locker, bad news, a couple was making out on it.

"Excuse me, that's my locker." Baby tried to be polite, clearing her throat loudly. The couple seemed to ignore her.

"Imma say it one last time, Excuse Me ." Baby crossed her arms. Something growing up in Chicago taught her was to not stand for anybody's shit. The couple finally broke up and looked at Baby. She cocked a eyebrow and motioned for them to move.

"Oh my god will you shut up you're so ghetto." The girl, a tall blonde, snarked at Baby. Baby sized up the girl she was a good 5-6 inches taller then Baby, seeing as baby was only 5'2, and the blonde was skinny as shit. Unfortunately, growing up in a gang taught Baby one thing, fight.

"Bitch just fucking move." Baby's Chicago accent rolled heavily off her tongue.

"Who are you calling Bitch." Baby felt her self roll up her sleeves ready to hit the skeleton bitch.

"Whoa, calm down Heather, why don't you go before you get a boob implant popped." A male voice from behind Baby made her spin around. A cute, dark haired boy stood behind her smirking at her. The girl, Heather, huffed and dragged her boyfriend with her.

"Heard we were getting a new girl." The boy turned to Baby looking her up and down.

"Yeah, well you found me." Baby responded sarcastically noticing the cocky smirk on his lips.

"You're hot, like fucking gorgeous." The boy blurted taking in her face and body, this made Baby roll her eyes

"Thanks? Sorry, whats your name again?" Baby knew this type of boy very well. She's experienced this fuck boy behavior too many times. At this point in her life she was dating for long relationships. She had a brother and life to worry about.

"Paxton, what about you gorgeous?"

"Names Baby, you know where History is?" She asked looking down at her schedule.

"Uh yeah, I'm actually headed there." He told her.

"Okay, c'mon." She closed her locker and he led her to a classroom.

Paxton opened the door for her to which she muttered thank you. They both walked in and the class seemed to go silent.

"Damn." A olive skinned girl said snapping everyone out of the silence.

"Damn is right Devi, This is some really heavy stuff." The teacher then turned his attention to Baby.

"Well, Looks like we got a new student, please introduce yourself." Baby mentally groaned. She stood up and waved.

"My name is Baby, I have a younger brother, and we're from Chicago." Baby gave one of her best fake smiles before sitting down. She sat behind a white boy in the second row next to her sat the pretty olive skinned girl.

"Welcome to Sherman Oaks Baby. What an interesting name, anyway, we were on slavery, yes, ok." The teacher seemed like a bit of a spaz and Baby quite frankly tuned out the whole thing.

The olive skinned girl, Devi, looked over at the gorgeous girl sitting next to her. Devi felt jealous, the girl was absolutely beautiful, Devi saw how Paxton looked at her, at her body. Devi wanted that, so, she came up with plan. Become friends with Baby.

Baby was woken out of her daydream by the bell. She stood up grabbing her bag.

"Hey, I'm Devi." The pretty girl told her.

"Baby." Baby smiled at the girl.

"You're like really pretty." Devi told her.

"Thank you, you're gorgeous by the way, where did you get those hoops?" Devi was taken back by the how nice Baby is.

"Uh my mom got them and thank you." The girls walked out of the classroom together.

"Do you know where biology lab is?" Baby asked Devi.

"Oh yeah, I'm actually going that way do yo-" Baby noticed Devi looking at Paxton as he tied his shoe. Devi was cut off by Mr. Shapiro as he called her in. She gave Baby a apologetic smile and rushed off. Baby stood in the hall way looking at her map.

She looked around noticing the lack of student in the hallway, "What the hell we gon do now?"

First Chapter, Yay! I'm excited for this one. Paxton H-Y is gonna need a little more then that to get Baby to like him but I think she'll get there lol. Also, I do not intend to make Devi mean or an "enemy" but knowing her character from the show I think she'll have her wtf moments. Thank for reading!
