"Santu" she called out

"Hasu maa, we are here" Sachi shouted from the terrace

Feeling the steps in the dark, Haseena made her way to the terrace, taking a deep breath to control her anger, she tried to locate them in the dark

"What's happening Santu? You better have a good excuse, coz I left 75 people who came..."

Before she could complete it, the lights came on. In the middle of the terrace garden, stood the one person she longed to see for many days.

"I'm so sorry Haseena. I scared you, didn't I? When I received your letter in the morning, I was on cloud nine, however, I couldn't bring myself to read. I want to chance to fight for my love, even if it's the end, I want to talk to you for one last time" Karishma said as Haseena stood controlling her raging heart and looking at Karishma with her ocean eyes.

Dear Karishma,

I have no idea how to apologies for my behavior and all those vile words I spoke to you. I am so sorry. They are just a means to push me away from you. Those are the exact things that made me fall for you. Your love for your family, your selfless love for the country and everyone in it, the way you make others feel around you, and how you accept everything in other people. You are one of the best things that ever happened in my life. With all my heart and life, I LOVE YOU KARISHMA.

This confuses me so much, coz I never believed in falling in love in a few meets, but the pain of being apart from you is far more than that confusion.

Coming to the important part, I have a secret to tell you and a decision you have to make for us. When you asked me why I don't have anyone in my life, I was uncomfortable because 3 years back my engagement broke, with whom I was in a serious relationship for many years and his reason is I can't have children. This truth wrecked me, it took away the person I love and my dream of carrying a child at the same time because of that accident. It took me years to build back up, and the battle I fought with myself to overcome my insecurities was the hardest of all, I thought I would adopt a child and write my own happily ever after, when everything I want is happening, my heart was reckless enough to fall in love and now my happily ever after seems incomplete without you. I tried to run away from you but kept bouncing back to you. When you told me about your vision of a family and kids. I was scared that after knowing about me, what if you reject me, my insecurities again kicked in, and this time I don't know whether I can bear it. So, I ended it before you can. I'm so sorry to judge you. When my lawyer called telling me I'm eligible for adoption, I wanted you to be the first one to know. My life is awry and so am I. I hope you forgive me.

Karishma looked up from the letter, tears rolling down. Haseena walked up to her, kneeling she said

"I am so sorry"

"I love you" Karishma whispered kneeling before her, holding Haseena's hand she continued

"Haseena, you are the only person with whom I want to fulfil my dreams, the face I want to wake up every morning for the rest of my life. I want to pamper you, tease you and get scolded by you. If you accept me, I want to be the mother of your children and spoil them to the high heavens. I want to give you all the happiness and try my best to be worthy of you."

As they stared into each other's eyes, the meteorites made their way into the earth's atmosphere, shining bright they followed each other to the destination

"As the legend has it, a shooting star fulfils your wishes. And I wish for you Haseena" She softly pressed her lips against her hand

"And I wish for you" Haseena smiled through her tears, hugging each other, there they sat promising their love with the moon and the stars as a witness

"And I'm for all of us to be together" Santosh and Sachi hugged them

"And I am going to kill both if you ever tried this kind of a stunt. You guys gave me a heart attack" Haseena said picking up Sachi. Laughing they stared at the sky as the stars rolled down to the earth.

Haseena and Karishma sat on the couch waiting for Santosh and Sachi who were busy in the kitchen, their giggles getting loud each minute, Karishma and Haseena both looked at each other,

"You look gorgeous" Karishma said smiling at Haseena

"Thank you"

"I think you should wear a saree in our wedding, and..." Before Karishma could complete Haseena stopped her

"Wedding? Our wedding?" Haseena asked wide-eyed

"Of course, I mean I thought of dating for some time but you proposed to me and me being the chivalrous woman that I am couldn't say no, so marriage it is" Karishma shrugged as discussing the morning news, where a perplexed Haseena sat staring at her, recovering she said

"No one in the world ever proposed for a marriage like this, you could have at least bought me a flower Karishma" Haseena chided

"Well, aren't you the one who said that your life is awry and so are you, so for you I am trying to fit in" Karishma pulled out a velvet box and sat on her knee,

"So, Ms. Mallik, will you marry me?" Tears flowed through her eyes as Haseena vigorously nodded her head in yes,

"I would love to" Haseena pulled Karishma capturing her lips, softly acknowledging the most precious moment of their life, Karishma held her waist pulling closer deepening the kiss, tasting each other's fear, pain, insecurities and promising a lifelong partnership in sickness and health, breaking the kiss Karishma kissed on her forehead and slipped the ring on her finger

"Forever" Karishma whispered

"Forever" Haseena whispered joining their foreheads

"Guys?" Santosh said walking into the living room, with Sachi following her obediently.

Both of them separated with a jerk, Santosh oblivious to the happening, came forward with a freshly baked cake

"I prepared it for celebrating Hasu's success but it got the opportunity to witness my best friend's love story" Santosh smiled at them, but slowly her smiled into a frown

"Am I missing something? Why are your faces flushed?" Santosh raised her eyebrows; Haseena slowly showed her ring finger which was now adorned by a beautiful Diamond ring

"OH MY GOD!" Santosh exclaimed and jumped on Haseena, a startled Sachi started at her mother who suddenly turned into a koala and hugged Haseena, Karishma laughing at the pair, took Sachi into her arms. Finally calming down from their excited talk, they noticed Karishma and Sachi who were busily planning an ice cream party, Santosh slowly took Sachi from Karishma giving relief to the only functioning hand

"Karishma, you are wounded, why are you carrying her?" Santosh asked concerned

"It's fine Santu, I am completely alright" Karishma smiled

"And what happened to your left hand?" Haseena asked sternly looking at her

"Nothing much, just a bullet wound in the recent mission, it'll be alright in a few days" Karishma shrugged

"BULLET!" Haseena exclaimed

"Come on, let's cut the cake" Karishma swiftly changed the topic

"CAKE!" Sachi shouted

As Karishma and Haseena stood beside each other after cutting the cake, Haseena whispered sternly

"Don't think you are off the hook, Ms Singh"

Karishma smiled at her

"Why are you smiling?" Haseena frowned when a cute pout adorned her lips, Karishma held her hand, and with all the love she could muster, she looked into Haseena's eyes and spoke

"My love, I hope life gives me enough chances to show how deeply I am in love with you."
