jaemin wasn't stupid.

it was obvious to him and anyone with a set of working eyes and ears that his crush on song yoonmi would go nowhere. yoonmi was evidently into jeno, and jeno into her.

i should have given up a long time ago.

it was funny in a way, jaemin thought. he and jeno had such different tastes in everything. he preferred bitter things and jeno preferred sweet. jaemin ate the tomatoes in his sandwiches, while jeno took them off.

they'd even had different types in girls. he was typically attracted to cute and bubbly girls, whereas jeno...well, jeno never really explicitly stated his type but jaemin imagined him to like someone more calm and a little stoic.

he never would have imagined that he and his best friend would end up liking the same person.

"he's too nice," jaemin mused out loud, thinking back to jeno telling jaemin to go after yoonmi.

reaching for his phone he opened his texts before sending jeno a message.

he opened up his phone again, this time calling yoonmi. she picked up after the first ring.

"there's a few things i need to tell you. do you have time right now?"
