"This is not fair." Percy crossed her arms staring at me through the Iris Message.

"Percy, I am going to give our king warning. If I brought you here and you... we would have to explain some things to the Team and to Batman. This way he knows beforehand. Please stay safe and out of trouble."

She smiled. "Of course. Though I think I may visit some friends. I will see you later Kaldur."

Before I could respond she sliced through the Iris Message, leaving me standing in my room. I rolled my eyes before grabbing my jacket.

I walked to the living room and noticed Connor, Megan, and Artemis were locked in a conversation.

Smiling I moved to the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of water, not reacting when most of the food in the refrigerator disappeared before I could close the door.

Wally ran off, with food in tow.

I sighed and shook my head, leaning against the counter as I drank the water.

I finished the bottle and threw it away before deciding it would be best to speak with my king as soon as possible.

Walking towards the library, I slipped my phone out of my pocket. I selected my king's number from the contact list and held the phone against my ear.

When it went to voicemail I ended the call. He is most likely on a mission.

I strolled through the rows of bookshelves, fingers trailing on the spines of the many books.

At random I pulled one out and went to sit down. I fought my way through the print occasionally stopping to rub my eyes.

Somehow I have managed to keep the fact that I'm dyslexic from both the Team and Percy. It is fairly easy with Percy as we tend to write in Atlantean or Greek anyway, but with the Team things become more difficult.

"Hey Kaldur, Batman has a mission for us." Wally grinned, leaning over the chair beside me.

"I will be right there my friend." I grabbed a bookmark and slid it between the pages before setting the book aside.

I hurried to the main room and stood next to my teammates, raising an eyebrow as I noticed Roy standing to the side.

"There has been a powerful surge of energy detected by League satellites in the Midwest. No activity had been recorded in the area before and the League members sent to investigate came back with no evidence of the surge. That's where you come in. Since you're younger, anything there would be more likely to show itself."

"You mean they'll underestimate us." Robin crossed his arms. "They won't think we're a threat."

I elbowed him as Batman glared at him.

"Yes, but that does not mean I underestimate your abilities. But that doesn't mean I overestimate them. This is a covert mission only. Do not engage. Red Arrow is going to be assisting you."

I nodded. "Do you wish for us to change or go as civilians?"

He appeared to think about it for a moment. "Go as civilians, if you are discovered the League will have full deniability and you can pass yourself off as children from a nearby town."

"We will leave immediately." I said.

We walked to the hangar after Artemis and I grabbed weapons. Entering the Bioship, I took my seat and glanced to my side where Percy would have been, a heavy guilt settling in my chest.

I should never have let her be removed from her duties. I know her better than I know myself most of the time.

That did not keep me from trying to make her leave at first...But that does not mean I did not know why she wanted to stay.

Doing this it keeps her busy and it keeps her from dwelling on the war. It allows me to comfort her and keep her safe.

"Recieved coordinates. Red Tornado please open the hanger door." Megan said.

As the Bioship took off I sighed and leaned back in my seat.

"You okay Kaldur?" Artemis asked.

"The royal twins, when they returned home, the princess was shaken by what occurred. Chesire's blades did little but the attack itself left mental trauma. It was all my king could do to prevent warriors from pillaging the surface."

"Why do people even like them? They were rude. I almost wanted to let them get hurt." Artemis said.

"The princess is...not the nicest person when she is annoyed but if you had met her under different circumstances I am sure you would find her company enjoyable."

"And the prince?" Roy asked.

"I do not know much of him. Before I became Aqualad, my record in the military was being reviewed to see I might be fit to become the princess's guard. I, along with the other candidates, had to try to keep her out of trouble while she stayed in Poseidonis."

"And who ended up getting chosen?"

"No one. We all failed. The princess does not like being coddled and would much rather be treated as the person she is instead of a damsel in distress. So she went out and engaged in combat with a sea serpent."

"We're here." Psychic link established.

Droplines descended and we dropped down into the forest below.

This way. Robin started through the trees, not waiting for us.

We quickly followed after him. And when we heard some yelling we ran faster until we were able to see the source.

What the hell is going on? Roy asked as we stared at the battle.

A group of girls were shooting out at horde of monsters.

One of them yelled and lightning struck down, reducing several of the monsters to dust.

"I'm almost out of arrows!"

A scream rang out and a girl with red hair fell down.

"Aegis!"

More and more monsters seemed to appear out of nowhere.

We need to help them! Megan yelled.

No, Batman said to not engage. Robin responded.

They'll die!

I swallowed and grabbed a waterbearer.

Before I could do anything, an entire section of monsters crumbled to dust.

"You look like you could use some help Pinecone Face."

Okay so....uh........................

Oh and over the weekend it was me, my cousins, and their friend were shooting off bottle rockets

And some of them went into the pool...

And they blew up under water

So we were doing that

Cause my aunt told us to try to hit the frogs

Cause they are annoying

The pool hasn't been used in like two or three years because the pump is broken so there are a crap ton of frogs living in it.

And I'm just gonna publish this early cause I'm bored and knowing the weather tennis will somehow get canceled...
