(Y/n)'s POV

Choking on my glass of (f/d), I sent a glare towards the pink-haired dragon slayer who had put a casual arm around my shoulder. He paid no mind to my annoyance and instead, ordered some fried chicken for himself.

"Weren't you hanging out with my sister?"
"Nah, I left Lucy in town by herself. She was getting a little too obsessed with the shopping. It was tiring me out."
"*laughs* Of course she was."

Hearing a whistle behind me, I looked behind to see Happy, a knowing smirk gracing his round face. Grabbing a fork from the bench, I threw it at the teasing cat only to have him fly in front of me.

"He looooves you," he exclaimed cheekily.
"Shut it, you stupid cat."
"But it's true."
"As if, get your facts right. He has Luce."
"Then explain why he rushed here to spend time with you rather than hang out with her."
"That's because she was going a little overboard with the shopping."
"Is it really because of that?"
"W-whatever. Don't provoke me any further unless you want a slow and painful death."

Natsu had fallen asleep with his arms wrapped loosely around my body, his head resting comfortably on my stomach. My eyes softened as I stared at his sleeping figure, his face as innocent and pure as a child's.

Mira brought the chicken over along with fish for Happy, her matchmaker sense undoubtedly tingling with anticipation as she mouthed the words 'get together already' before she left.

Happy sat upon the table, choosing to ignore us as he happily gulped down the raw fish. Gray and Erza glanced at Natsu as they sat down beside us.

The scarlet-haired mage slipped a job request across the table. I looked down at the content. Defeat a rogue guild for a hefty amount of jewels. Erza took my grin as a positive reply before dragging the fire dragon slayer off my body.

He groaned as she threw him onto the ground. I unconsciously winced in pain for the poor guy as he sat up and cracked a few joints. Gray burst out in laughter, earning a good punch from Natsu.

"Let's go get Lucy," Erza said.
"No need. I'm here," she replied.

I smiled as a greeting for my sister, who returned the gesture. We headed to the train station, much to Natsu's disappointment. However, before he could puke, Erza knocked him out.

"Hey (Y/n), if you're a dragon slayer, why don't you have an exceed?" Gray asked.
"First of all, I'm only a second gen and who decided that all dragon slayers have to have exceeds?"
"Fair enough."
"So why do we have to defeat this guild? What trouble have they been causing?" asked Lucy.
"For now, we're not sure. We'll learn more when we meet up with the client."
"Wake me up when we get there."

I turned so that I was leaning against Gray's arm with my feet up on the armrest on the opposite end. Lucy simply sighed as I flashed a small grin at the celestial spirit mage.

~2 hours later~

"So you're saying there's no guild? And that this was all a lie to hold us hostage so that you could make master give up Fairy Tail?" Erza asked in a dangerously calm tone.
"Titania, I'm glad you realised my-"
"Crystal dragon's roar!"

I aimed the attack at our 'client', feeling uncharacteristically enraged. His subordinates hurriedly tried to block my incoming attacks but this was fuelled by my anger and nothing was worse than that.

"(Y/n), you're going to faint if you keep exerting your power like this!" Lucy yelled.
"Like I care!"
"Then all we have to do is help so that she doesn't have to do it all by herself!" Natsu exclaimed.

~Flashback to moments before~

"Hey Luce, I have something to tell you," Natsu said.

I felt a vice-like grip crush my heart as they headed off into the nearby forest. Erza sighed as I urged both her and Gray to follow them. I had to come to terms with this.

The quiet buzzing of the insects and hushed melodies of the birds outweighed the unbearable tension as we inched closer to the two who had stopped just a few metres ahead.

"Um Luce...I..."
"Actually, there's something I've been meaning to tell you too," Lucy started.
"What?"
"I-I like you."
"Um well...I..."

That was it. I couldn't bear to hear his reply and instead, turned my back to the two, refusing to look back as I walked away. Gray and Erza looked at each other, but I didn't need their pity.

~Flashback end~

"(Y/n), watch out!"

Natsu pushed me to the ground before he slipped, his lips falling onto mine. My eyes widened as he leaned in instead of pulling away.

I blushed in a dark shade of red as he placed gentle kisses down my neck. As much as I'd like to believe that he loved me, I couldn't let him continue.

"N-Natsu, stop!"
"(Y/n), be my girlfriend."
"We're in the middle of a battle! What the hell are you talking about?!"
"The others took the fight outside...and I'm serious about our relationship."
"But didn't you and Lucy already..."
"Huh? No, I rejected her. I like you and only you, unless you'd prefer me to two-time."
"That's not what I mean!"
"I love you."

I blushed once again as he leaned in and kissed me. That was when he suddenly stopped, his nose just touching mine as he listened to the sounds outside.

"What are you two doing? Making out in the middle of a battle?" Erza asked.
"Come on, Erza, you guys already defeated them," Natsu replied.

She aimed a sword at him, but he seemed to be shielding me from her rage.

"Hey (Y/n), ready to run?" he whispered into my ear.
"What?"

I screamed as he picked me up and ran away from the raging requip mage. Getting over my moment of disbelief and shock, I found laughter escape my mouth in a flurry of giggles.

"Happy!" Natsu yelled.
"I can't lift two people, you idiot!"

The blue exceed still acquiesced to the dragon slayer's request despite his obvious struggle. I laughed as Natsu once again caught my lips in a kiss.

"Oi, don't kiss when I'm carrying you or else I'll drop the both of you!" Happy exclaimed.
"We're already falling."
"What? Oh yeah, we are," Natsu replied without a care in the world.
"Do something about this!"
