Chapter 8

"From as long as I can remember, my daughter has been so infatuated with you and Marvel, especially your role as Captain America. If only you could have seen her reaction every time the movies would play or she would see a picture or watch a video of you, it was pretty funny.

There was actually this one time where she got so excited and..."

"Ok, ma I.. I think he gets how big of a fan I am." I cut her off knowing she was about to go into THAT story, again.

"Ha, a "big" fan is an understatement..." I hear my brother mumble beside me.

"Anyway.." I say while glaring at him. "Mom, don't you think it's time to eat? I'm sure our guest here must be starving." I tell my mom trying to avoid the topic of anymore embarrassing storied of me.

"Oh! Yes of course. I will be right back." My mom declares as she gets up to get the food.

"Nice save, " Chris whispers to me as we watch my mom walk away.

"I'm so sorry you had to endure that. I promise I'm not some crazy, sociopathic fan who knows what toothbrush you use." I whisper back, with a light blush on my face.

"Hey, it's alright. It's no big deal really... Plus I think it's pretty cute that you fond over me." Showing again, that perfect smile at me as he finishes that sentence.

Yet, we don't stay long gazing at each other as my mom calls for the boys' assistance.

"Chris can you come here please and come to help Joseph set up the table?" My mom calls from the kitchen.

Joseph gets up to go help from the couch across from me, as I turn to see Chris get up with a hint of confusion in his eyes as he watches a smaller boy come out of the hallway and follow Joseph to the kitchen.

"She doesn't mean you, sorry I should have told you about my other brother earlier while I introduced you to Joseph. He's 7 years old and he has the same name as you, we just call him Chris too." I told him while grabbing his wrist before he ventures off to the kitchen with the boys.

"Ohh, that makes sense. It's a'ight he wasn't here in the beginnin' so I can see how yuh didn' get the chance to introduce him." He replies while sitting back down. His Boston accent showing a bit.

I giggled, I couldn't help it! His accent was adorable and I think he could tell I like it cause he sent me a lazy grin and responds.

"Wha? Did I do somethin' wrong?" With a teasing look in his eyes.

"No no, just. Your accent is kind of funny... and adorable," I respond with a slight blush forming on my face.

"Oh, so yuh think my accents adorable, eh?" He replies while moving forward to where our noses are almost touching.

I didn't know what to do, I just stayed there, as I couldn't move. It felt like I was in a trance whenever those baby blues gaze into my brown ones.

"Mhmm" I hear someone clear their throat, bringing us out of my trance.

It turned out to be my mom with my brothers standing behind her, which at the moment are giggling like a bunch of schoolgirls while my mom carries her signature, "not gonna ask now, but we will talk about it later look."

"Uh, sorry about that. We uh were...were just having a staring contest." I say with a nervous laugh.

I can feel Chris trying to contain his laughter next to me so I nudge his foot with mine.

"Mhmm, sure you were."

"Well, that was one intense staring contest." I hear Joey snickering when he got to his seat.

I shot him a glare as my mom put the final plate down on the table.

"Well, I hope you guys enjoy, especially you Chris. I hope this is something you like to eat. If I knew you were gonna be showing up I would have, made something else." My mom says as she takes her seat across from me.

"Oh no, this is good. This is actually one of my favorites." He responds with a sweet smile while pilling his plate with Alfredo and salad.

"Good, I'm glad you like it and this is actually Andrea's favorites as well."

"Yeah, she basically inhales the food into her mouth like a vacuum every time mom makes it." Joey says after filling his plate.

I groan, of course, he had to say something embarrassing like that. Especially with Chris right next to me.

I just glare at him as I grab the bowl from the middle to start filling my own plate, while he smirks at me, knowing he just embarrassed me in front of him.

"Well I don't blame her, this is pretty good," Chris responds to my brother's comment with a chuckle. Probably from how embarrassed I got.

Heck, I probably look like a freaking tomato right now. I think to myself as I start eating, slowly of course.

"Wow, that was really really good. No wonder this is one of your favorite meals. It would be mine too if I got to eat it every day." Chris says as we all about finished our meals.

"Awww, why thank you, Chris. Well, you are more than welcome to take some with you when you leave." My mom replies as she gets up and starts to clean up the table.

"No problem, here let me help you with that," He tells her while getting up from his seat and starts collecting the plates and utensils.

"Oh no that's alright I got this, plus you're the guest here."

"No, I insist. It's the least I can do since you allowed me to stay for dinner."

"No it-"

"Ma, just let him help, please. As it is you both are stubborn and by the time you are done bickering...

I'll probably end up getting seconds."

"...."

"You know what, I think... I think I will just go sit in the living room." I say, getting up from my seat and moving towards the living room.

I should just stop trying to make jokes before I embarrase myself even more.
