Aaron P.O.V

"How are they?" I ask.

"They'll life" Hyria explains as she finishes up healing Lucinda. She gets up off her knee and looks over the two women, both lying still on the bed with Lucinda on her back but with her head facing Y/n while Y/n lies on her side facing Lucinda. "Y/n's healing up well, Ivan's spell is completely gone thanks to Lucinda's stupidity, though her body will need some time to adjust from shifting into a panther. First shifts can be painful and take a large toll on the body but she'll be fine. If Lucinda hadn't healed her, she might not have made it considering how weak her body was after shifting"

"What about Lucinda?" I ask.

"She'll survive" Hyria continues. "But, she won't be the same again"

Aaron P.O.V (one day ago)

"Hurry!" Lucinda shouts as I carry Y/n's lifeless body into the house, towards the stairs.

"What happened!?!?" I hear Zane shout from behind us.

"Baby brother, calm down" Garroth says, attempting to comfort his panicking brother. "She's fine"

"She doesn't look fine!" Zane shouts as he gets up and starts to rush over to us.

"Zane-kun calm down" Kawaii-chan says as she grabs Zane, stopping him from freaking out any further.

I make it to the top of the stairs and head straight into Lucinda and Kawaii-chan's room. I gently place Y/n on the bed but quickly get pushed back by a frantic and worried Lucinda.

"Lucinda?" I ask as Lucinda grasps both Y/n's hands in hers. "What happened to her?"

"She strained her body too much. Ivan's sickness. It might kill her" Lucinda says rather calmly.

I quickly rush down next to her. "Lucinda. She'll pull through. She's strong"

"Get out" Lucinda says with a dead look on her face.

"Lucinda, what are planning?" I ask.

"Aaron get out!" Lucinda says more aggressively.

"Lucinda, I care about Y/n too but I'm not gonna let you do something stupid" I say as I grab Lucinda's hand, only for her to force me off with a spell.

Crash!

That sends me flying back into the wall, but instead of falling to the ground after. I stay suspended against the wall. Held in place by Lucinda's magic.

Before I can even say anything else, Lucinda places her hands on Y/n's chest, just over her heart. She begins to heal Y/n but soon begins to grunt in pain from Ivan's spell fighting against her. She pushes through it and a violent red glow fills the room as Lucinda screams in pain.

Then, it all stops. The room returns to its normal lighting. I fall to the floor. And Lucinda falls onto Y/n, lifeless.

Slam!

"Aaron!" Aph shouts as she runs over to me after bursting through the door while Katelyn, Garroth, Zane and Kawaii-chan all run over to Y/n and Lucinda.

Aaron P.O.V

"She was an idiot. But I can understand why she did what she did" Hyria explains. "She really loves that girl"

"Yeah, I'm glad they found each other again" I say, slightly jealous of they're relationship.

"Well, they're certainly going to be stuck with each other for a while" Hyria says.

"What do you mean?" I ask.

"What Lucinda did was dangerous. She healed Y/n too much that it started to take away from her own soul. Since Lucinda is a witch she has a strong soul, it's what allows witches to make familiars since witches souls can survive being divided. While Lucinda healed Y/n, her soul was cracked, so much so that a piece of her soul split off and latched itself onto the piece that resides in Y/n"

"What does that mean for them?" I ask, worried for they're safety once again.

"Y/n will be fine, she might be a little more lively considering she has more of a soul than usual. Lucinda on the other hand will feel hollow towards some aspects of her life" Hyria begins to explain.

"Hasn't she been through all this already? When Y/n first became her familiar?" I ask.

"Not to this extent. When Y/n became her familiar, she lost about 5% of her soul. That combined with how young she was meant that there wasn't much difference in her. But here, she lost about 10%, meaning she's only got 85% of a soul left. She'll probably lose interest in some things like certain foods or movies that she used to like but now she just won't care about. She'll only feel whole when she's with Y/n so she'll feel a strong attraction to her. Luckily they love each other regardless so Lucinda's affections aren't misguided"

"Will they need to take some time apart like last time?" I ask.

"Lucinda will need to get used to having only 85% of a soul but separating them after what just happened wouldn't be right. They need each other. Besides, as much of an idiot as my daughter is, she's strong, I know she can handle it"

"Thank you again for coming on such short notice" I say. "We weren't sure what to do"

"You did the right thing. But I should be the one thanking you. You kept my daughter safe, I can't thank you enough for that" Hyria thanks as she looks over at Lucinda with an honest smile. "As stupid as she can be sometimes, doesn't change how much I love her. Now, we should give them their rest, come on"

Hyria and I both walk out the door, shutting it as we leave. We both head downstairs to find Aph, Kawaii-Chan, Dante, Zane and Garroth all gathered around the table with Zianna cooking lunch.

"Is Y/n okay?" Zane asks as soon as he notices us.

"And Lucinda?" Aphmau asks.

"They'll live, they just need time to rest" Hyria explains as Zianna hands her a cup of coffee. "Thanks"

"Can we go see them?" Zane asks.

"What part of they need rest don't you understand?" Hyria says. "I appreciate that you're worried but Y/n will be fine"

"What about Lucinda?" Katelyn asks, worry evident in her voice.

"Look, she'll..." Hyria starts before stopping to rub between her eyes and her nose out of exhaustion. "Aaron can you just tell them, I've already explained this once already"

Hyria takes her coffee and walks back upstairs. I turn back to see everyone facing me, waiting for an answer.

Zianna P.O.V

"You holding up okay?" I ask Hyria as I join her in watching over our daughters.

"I'll be fine, just can't help but worry. Even though I know they'll both be okay" Hyria explains. "How about you? You got here surprisingly quickly"

"Well as soon as Zane told me what happened, I rushed here as soon as I could. Besides I was heading here anyway"

"What about her father?" Hyria asks.

"He's flying over as we speak. Should be here later this afternoon" I explain. "What about Lucinda's dad?"

"He's our of the picture" Hyria says calmly but I decide not to pressure her for details. "You're daughter's incredibly strong, you should be proud. She should have been dead a while ago"

"She's always been strong, sometimes I wonder where she gets it from" I say.

"I'd reckon she gets it from you" Hyria compliments. "Instead of freaking out about Y/n, you instead comforted your sons who needed you. That takes real strength, the kind Y/n definitely has"

"Thank you, that means a lot" I say. "But, I'm not here real mother"

"You're the one who was there for you. You're not her biological mother but that doesn't make you any less of her mother" Hyria says. "You're her mother where it matters"

"Well, you didn't do too bad yourself if you raised a daughter like Lucinda" I say.

"Thanks" Hyria says. "Just for curiosities sake, who are Y/n's parents? Her biological parents that is"

"I don't really know, I only met them once. They seemed like good people but it was clear why they put Y/n up for adoption. They were both fairly young, her mother was only about 21 from what I remember. They weren't very well off and decided that putting Y/n up for adoption was the best thing for her"

"Is Y/n allowed to contact them?" Hyria asks.

"Well, that's why I was coming to see her actually" I explain. "As of yesterday, she is"

Hi PTH here,

So this chapter was mostly cool down and set up for future events. I've wanted to have a story about Y/n's birth parents for a while but it didn't feel like the right time and it still isn't but I'll get to it eventually. For those who don't understand, Y/n's birth parents weren't very well off and were fairly young when Y/n was born so they decided to put her up for adoption to give her a better life. These things do happen so no judgments. Also, I hope everything with Lucinda's soul made sense. Basically, Lucinda split her soul while healing Y/n and that spilt off piece joined with the piece already in Y/n. MEaning Lucinda has 85% of her soul while Y/n has 100% of her own soul as well as 15% of Lucinda's soul. Compared to before when Y/n only had 5% of Lucinda's soul. Hope that all makes sense. Anyway till next time folks.
