It was a sunny day when Jiwon was busy with her shift in the cafe. She wiped her forehead with the back of her hand.

Her eyes then fell on Yeonjun and Beomgyu at the nearby table who were busy discussing something. Jiwon was curious, since they seemed to be glancing at her a few times, and decided to walk up to them with their ice creams.

"Hey!" Beomgyu and Yeonjun waved as they saw Jiwon.

"Here's your order. Now, why do you guys look like you're gossiping about me?" Jiwon laughed, placing the ice cream bowls on the table.

"You're not even worth being gossiped about. What do you mean?" Beomgyu grinned mischievously, earning a death glare from Jiwon and he continued, "We're planning to go spend the day at Soobin's bungalow this Saturday. Wanna tag along?" Beomgyu asked

Jiwon hesitated "Ummm..."

"C'mon Jiwon. Noona already agreed. It would be a bummer without you." Yeonjun beamed

"But wouldn't her boyfriend be jealous?" Beomgyu teased her again, looking at Yeonjun

"He's not my boyfriend!" she retorted and blushed

"Yeah sure. We can invite him too. Soobin wouldn't mind because they're close friends anyways." Yeonjun added

Jiwon gave it a thought and eventually agreed despite knowing how much everyone is going to tease her.

"Alright," Jiwon said

Beomgyu grinned, showing her a bro fist which she returned with a smile.

"Hey, Eonnie. Have you decided what to wear?" Jiwon texted Nari.

"Hey" she replied in a while. "I'm going to wear a pink sundress with my cherry red leggings and for later I'm keeping a spare set of clothes."

"Oh~ that's a good idea. I am thinking of wearing a black top with denim shorts." Jiwon wrote with a picture of her clothes lying on her bed.

"You're gonna look great💜" Nari replied, "I approve this👍🏻."

"Thanks💜"

"I just received a text from Yeonjun!"

"Oh. What is he saying?"

"He's going to fetch us at 9. I'm so excited!"

Jiwon saw that she received the same text from Yeonjun.

"Me too! I'll be ready in a while."

At 9, Yeonjun and Beomgyu arrived to pick the girls at Jiwon's place.

"You both look so pretty," Yeonjun remarked from the car

"Thanks" Nari replied sheepishly while Jiwon smiled.

The girls settled in the back seat and from there, their journey to Soobin's bungalow began.

"Is Soobin's bungalow far?" Nari asked

"Yeah, you can say that," Yeonjun replied, gazing at Nari from the driver's mirror.

"By the way, Jiwon we're gonna go pick Sunwoo too," Beomgyu winked, "So make some space and scoot to the middle seat."

Jiwon's face went red at his words. Regardless, she was content.

•••

To say that Soobin's bungalow was big would be an understatement. It was more of an elegant mansion with a parking lot big enough to park several cars.

"Woah!" Nari and Jiwon exclaimed.

"Welcome," Soobin came to the veranda to greet them with his dimpled smile.

He adorned a white t-shirt with a pair of denim shorts and slippers.

Even in simple attire, no one could deny the fact that Soobin was very charming.

"Hey, Soobin. It's been a long time." Sunwoo smiled, as he came forward, hugging Soobin.

"Where is my hug?" Yeonjun complained and everyone laughed

"There~There~" Soobin walked to Yeonjun hugging him and Beomgyu joined them as well.

The three best friends were spending time together after a while and anyone could tell that they were inseparable.

After their group hug, Soobin walked over to Nari and Jiwon. "Hello, noona and Jiwon. It's good to see you again." He greeted

"Hey!" They greeted, "Thanks for having us here."

Soobin led everyone to the backyard and not to mention, the backyard pool was grand. They were delighted to see the snacks and drinks prepared.

Everyone helped themselves with some snacks and soon the fun began.

Nari and Jiwon turned as they heard a splash. They saw Beomgyu having fits of laughter as he had pushed Yeonjun into the pool.

Yeonjun glared at Beomgyu begrudgingly and pulled his leg, dragging Beomgyu along with him.

After the loud splash, Beomgyu came out, gasping for air, and then bursting into another fit of laughter.

Nari wanted to join them but was hesitant. Jiwon encouraged her friend and finally, Nari entered the pool. Her flowery sundress floated in the water as she swam towards the boys.

"You look like a mermaid noona," Beomgyu remarked

"Thanks except I don't have a tail." Nari chuckled

Yeonjun splashed water on Nari and the three of them started playing.

Meanwhile, Sunwoo and Soobin were sitting by the pool, catching up with their legs in the warm water. Jiwon sat beside Sunwoo joining in the conversation.

Beomgyu threw a mischievous smile at Jiwon from the pool, gesturing her to hold hands with Sunwoo.

Jiwon furrowed her eyebrows at him.

Sunwoo noticed Beomgyu's gestures by the corner of his eyes and held Jiwon's hand sneakily.

Her eyes went wide in surprise as her face flushed. Beomgyu snickered at Jiwon's embarrassment.

"Let's get inside!" Soobin persuaded, jumping in first.

"You know how to swim now?" Beomgyu asked him.

"I still don't. But that doesn't matter."

Meanwhile, Sunwoo held Jiwon's hand tightly hopping in with her as she let out a small squeal.

Jiwon quickly rose to gasp for air and saw Sunwoo's pink wet hair laying over his eyes. That made Jiwon chuckle and the two of them began to laugh.

"Love Birds" Beomgyu teased

Yeonjun climbed up the pool stairs, pushing back his wet hair. That's when Nari noticed how his sleeveless white shirt was stuck to his skin, revealing his toned body. She was in awe as her eyes never moved away from him.

That's when Yeonjun noticed Nari's gaze, smiling at her. "Would you like something Noona?"

"A coke would be nice." She replied, sheepishly.

"For me too," Beomgyu added

"Hey, let's play something," Soobin suggested

"I'm not a very sporty person, so I'll just sit out," Nari said

"No way. You don't have to be sporty. We're just having fun here," Beomgyu protested. "Besides, Soobin hyung isn't good either," he sassed, earning a smack from the older boy.

"Yeah and if you wanna win, just team up with me," Yeonjun winked and Nari giggled, feeling butterflies in her stomach.

The teams were as followed; Nari, Yeonjun and Beomgyu in one team, while Sunwoo, Jiwon and Soobin on the other. They decided to play water volleyball

•••

Soobin and Yeonjun fixed the net, and everyone went to their assigned side of the pool.

"I'm nervous," stated Nari, but the two boys on her team were quick to reassure her.

"We'll be on alert. You won't have to do much, just go along with the game. You just have to pass the ball to us," Yeonjun beamed at her.

"Yeah we'll definitely win anyway," said Beomgyu proudly.

"Soobin may be bad but Jiwon is good at volleyball and I also heard Sunwoo was really good at ball games," Nari warned

"Don't worry eonnie. It'll be a fun match. Beomgyu's the only competitive one here," laughed Jiwon, from the other side of the net.

"Well then... the game's on!" Beomgyu challenged.

The game started well with Sunwoo's serve, which was decided by flipping a coin. Yeonjun looked at the ball coming directly to his position and predicted he could receive it well.

"Noona just lifted the ball upwards and send it towards Beomgyu," he called loudly as he tried passing the ball to Nari. He wanted to get both his teammates to be included in the game, before sending it to the other team. He noted that the last player to get the ball and who would attack should be Beomgyu.

"Wait.. what-" Nari, on the other hand, got flustered by Yeonjun suddenly including her in the plan. But despite having no prior experience with volleyball, she still tried to do what Yeonjun told her to.

Unfortunately, the amount of force her hands needed to push the ball wasn't enough, and the ball ended up falling in the water faster than Beomgyu's reaction time.

"Ohh I messed up," she pouted.

"No. It was really great for the first time," Yeonjun gave her a thumbs up.

"Eonnie, you'll get the hang of it. You did amazing, you just need to push with your fingertips and not your palm," Jiwon advised, showing her the proper way of passing the ball.

"Don't help the opponents," Soobin sulked, causing the others to mock him.

"Anyway that's one point for us," Sunwoo stated, taking the ball from Beomgyu and preparing for the next serve, "Do we go up to ten?"

"Okay... Bring it on Hyung," Beomgyu shouted to show his excitement.

Sunwoo examined the opponents and deduced that sending it towards Nari would be a definite win for them, but it would not be fair. So he went in the same direction as the first time.

The ball was hit and Yeonjun tried the same thing as before. This time, Nari used the method she just learned and managed to pass the ball almost perfectly to Beomgyu. The latter was also quick enough this time and jumped to shoot the ball directly to attack the other team.

Soobin, who had been chilling and only cheering this whole time, saw the ball coming straight at him. Sunwoo called out his name anxiously while seeing his friend raise his long arms to cover his head, bracing for the impact.

What surprised everyone was that the ball bounced on his arm just enough for Jiwon to reach. She reacted fast and smacked the ball with her fist, much to everyone's confusion, but still managed to deliver it over the net. It fell right in front of Nari who tried swimming to the spot it was gonna land at, but in vain.

"What in the world was that?" Yeonjun couldn't hold back his laughter, seeing everyone's stunned faces.

"I just defended like a pro," Soobin grinned, earning a scoff from Beomgyu.

"You sure did. That was cool, both of you," Sunwoo cheered as all three of his team exchanged high fives.

"Yeah right. That was beginner's luck for Soobin Hyung. But where the hell did the fist come from?" Beomgyu inquired, laughing as he remembered Jiwon punching the ball out of confusion.

"Look! It was self-defense, okay?" Jiwon argued back.

Sunwoo gazed at her fondly as he went back to his position.

The next serve was again Sunwoo's and the whole scenario went on again. Nari did great this time. Beomgyu tried a smash, which Jiwon perfectly defended, and the ball was sent to Soobin. He passed it towards Sunwoo, who also attempted a smash.

Soobin cheered as he saw that Yeonjun was caught off-guard. The ball went towards Beomgyu instead. He barely managed to save it and Nari prepared herself to pass the ball.

"You have to pass it to me this time noona," Yeonjun called, which confused Nari a bit.

Nevertheless, she readied her hands to push the ball upwards. Unfortunately, she miscalculated her next move as she stumbled backward, and the ball hit her directly on her nose. Everyone stopped and looked at her with worried eyes.

"Noona," Yeonjun and Beomgyu both called, rushing in concern as Nari covered her nose, lowering her head from the agonizing pain.

Yeonjun hugged her as he tried to console her, "Let me see noona."

Jiwon swam to the other side of the net. "Eonnie, can you please lift your head?" she asked. Beomgyu cupped her right cheek as he lifted her face.

"It's bleeding Hyung," he told Yeonjun who still hugged her tightly, trying to reassure her.

Soobin rushed out to get the first-aid kit.

"Come on. We'll get you treated," Yeonjun said as he got out while still holding her close. Everyone else rushed out and Jiwon got a clean towel for her friend to keep her warm and dry.

Yeonjun made Nari sit with the towel over her shoulders as he tried treating her nose with the first-aid kit Soobin gave him.

Nari was quiet as Yeonjun managed to stop the bleeding. She had a piece of cotton stuffed in her nose.

Jiwon kneeled next to Yeonjun in front of her, "Do you feel better?" The older girl slowly nodded and Jiwon released a sigh of relief.

"Let's go noona," Beomgyu gently held Nari's arm, aiding her as they made their way inside.

Everyone freshened up and changed into dry clothes. They all sat down in Soobin's living room, as he showed off his video game collection.

Nari was lying down on the couch, quietly wrapped in a blanket. The pain in her nose was slowly getting better.

Jiwon was still concerned as she kept glancing at her.

"She's gonna be okay," Yeonjun assured, placing a hand over Jiwon's shoulder as he sat down on the floor next to her.

"Thanks for reacting so quickly Oppa," Jiwon gave him a small smile.

"That's no problem at all," he said, ruffling her hair, "now go play with these idiots, I'll keep her company as she rests."

Jiwon glanced at her and confirmed that she indeed was much better now. The girl was already smiling at something on her phone; perhaps cute animal videos.

Yeonjun settled himself next to Nari "Hey noona, feeling better?"

"Yes" Nari smiled, her voice a bit shaky.

"You'll be okay." He beamed back, patting her feet gently over the blanket. "Seems like Jiwon and everyone is having fun."

Nari couldn't hold back a heartfelt smile. "Yeah. I'm not into video games really," she said

"Me too. It's okay I am here to keep you company."

Jiwon went to join the 'idiots' to play a game Beomgyu had chosen. Teaming up against each other again, the four of them played for almost two hours.

Beomgyu and Jiwon kept bickering the whole time, leaving Soobin to question, "What do these 01 liners even feed on?"

Sunwoo, on the other hand, found this new side of Jiwon cute and gazed at her with affection.
