Chapter three

'Five six seven eight',

The dancers twirled to the beat as the instructor hit the floor with his stick.

She was six months in and loving every second of it. Well excluding the cramps which had reduced as her body adjusted to the new routines.

The class continued as both instructor and dancers watched the two way mirror.

The class was soon interrupted by the school principal.

'Gabriel Fraise, Lola Beaumont and Juliet Rodriguez, see me after class', the principal announced.

'Look, whatever it is I didn't do it. I've stayed trouble free for 24 hours', Gabriel said making Lola giggle and Jules roll her eyes.

It was a wonder the boy was still in the school. Though an amazing dancer, he was a mischief magnet.

Gabriel held the office door open for them as they walked into the Madams's office after class.

'Bonjour mes estudiantes. Ca va?'

(Good morning my students, how are you?)

'Tres bien Madam', Jules responded. She was gradually learning the language, good thing high school gave her a head start.

(Very well Madam')

'Bien bien, asseyez vous'

(Good good, take a seat),

They each took a seat and waited for the reason they were called in.

'Now, you are fully aware that our school has always provided some movie directors with dancers either as background dancers or as the star of their movie',

Noticing they were trying to hide their giddiness, Gabriel inclusive she smiled at them.

'Yes, while you were in Monsieur Laffiet's class you had scouts and they chose you three. So I'll need you to get your parents or guardians permission on these. It's supposed to be for your managers, but we'll serve in that capacity for you. We just need them informed and their consent given. Yes Gabriel',

'I already have my mami's response in three letters, duh?'

The girls giggled in order not to have the Madam throw them out alongside Gabriel.

Chuckling she said, 'Then we'll just have to have that penned down won't we?. Now Jules, scan these to your parents, and also for the rest of you I need those by Friday next week. A'urevior and Bon chance',

(Good bye and good luck)

They waited till they were a good distance from the office before screaming at the top of their lungs, well Gabriel did with the girls jumping in excitement.

Jules couldn't be happier, she never had this in her plans when she came here to study. And to be chosen in her first year here was almost impossible.

With that giddiness she dialed her mum's number.

After two rings her mum's sleep filled voice greeted her, she immediately glanced at her watch and did the math that it would be way passed her mum's bed time when she was calling.

'Oops, sorry mum but I just couldn't wait to tell you! I got to play a part in a movie, though I don't know what it'll be yet and I'm so so excited!', she spoke so fast that even she wasn't very sure what she was saying.

'Babe, talk to your child. All I heard was part and excited', her mum was obviously still half asleep and was making sure that it wasn't just her who lost some sleep.

'Hi baby, are you okay?', her dad's voice came through. He had such a comforting voice.

'Yes daddy, I'm great. Some movie scouts came by the class and watched us dance. Bottom line I've got a role though I don't know what it is yet', she said much slower this time.

'Wow, that's a good one baby. Congratulations',

'Thank you daddy',

'Do we have to sign anything?',

'Yes, I'll mail it to you immediately',

'That's fine, I'll get it to you before tomorrow runs out',

'Thanks daddy, I'm sorry mum woke you',

'Not to worry, she was still going to wake me even if she heard you perfectly',

She heard a scoff in the background and guessed mum was still awake.

'Well, I'm sorry all the same. Good night daddy'

'Good night baby',

She ended the call and her smile was still intact.

Turning, she had to run towards Gabriel before he made them spend the night in the ER again.
