Howarts 30

3rd person PoV

Above the Empire State Building, there was a very important meeting happening. 14 people sat in 14 thrones, each looking out of place.

The man wearing a pinstriped suit in the middle throne was shouting at the rest while a 17 year old girl with auburn hair and silver eyes sat oddly quiet with tears staining her cheeks.

"We can't have Artemis with Perseus! It will only cause problems!" The man argued leaning forward in his chair talking about his daughter like she wasn't in the room. "She swore an oath on the Styx and there will be consequences!"

"Artemis is happy with him. If he survives, I say we let it happen" Athena argued. Athena was never very fond of percy, she always thought he would break her daughters heart, but when she saw the broken hearted man, her heart of stone crashed into rubble. She even managed to notice Percy's happiness when around Artemis and he deserved something for saving Olympus so many times. she didn't dare say that to her father though.

"We can't have Artemis in a relationship! What if she goes rouge again?" Hera forced in her words remembering how Artemis reacted when Orion was around. "Artemis turned cold hearted and refused to trust men! We can't have it happening again!"

"By forcing her to break up with my son will cause heartbreak and only make her turn against the council!
Percy has had so many hard ships in his life. Let him have this one thing!"

"I say we kill the brat. He has been rewarded already for everything he has done..."

"Percy loves Artemis! We all know he will do anything to stay and protect the ones he loves, even break a certain oath on the Styx he made to never turn against us!" Aphrodite argued. It has been a long time since she had felt a Love so pure. Aphrodite would never tell anyone, but she was fading. It was the power surge from their love that stopped her from disappearing and she would do anything in her power to keep it alive.

At her words artemis' head snapped up. Percy loves her? It wasn't hard to believe, he had said it in so many ways without saying those three words. Little things like 'stay safe' and 'sleep well' and just being there for her told her all this. But the fact the goddess of love told the room, meant it was true.

"H-he l-l-oves me!!"  She whimpered. It only made her father angrier at the boy.

"No! He does not have my blessing! He can not love you!"

"Is my son not good enough? After everything?" Poseidon shouted, standing from his throne "where were your 'amazing' children when you needed saving?"

At this, Zeus stood up ready for a fight " my children won us the wars! They were important assets in both!"

"Well my son lead both!"

Before either could harm the other, Apollo flashed in looking exhausted. Everyone looked up to hear how their hero was doing. Even if they didn't want him with Artemis, they did not want him dead - Well most of them didn't.

Apollo sat on his throne and put his hand up to signal he needed a minute. The gods and goddesses lent forward in their thrones desperate to hear the news - even Hades. When a demigod overloads, they disappear. Their souls are ripped apart and never make it to the underworld.

"Percy lives" Apollo breathed. A Weight was lifted off the floating island at the news. "He is awake, he just needs to rest and not use his powers."

Artemis flashed away to sit with the man she was falling for. She couldn't stand to listen to everyone discuss the rest of her life while she didn't get an input.

"We can vote now she gone. Those in favour of Artemis and Percy being together?"

Athena, Aphrodite, Hestia, Apollo, Poseidon and Hades stood up with their hands on their hearts.

Even though it wasn't enough people to win, Zeus asked everyone against to stand up.

It was 6 to 7. The two couldn't be together.

"What can we do to keep the two apart? We know percy won't leave without a fight, even without his powers."

"We could make him forget he loves her." Aphrodite was disgusted by the idea but she held no power over the situation.

"Okay, it's a vote between making him forget his love for the girl, or we kill him"

Everyone sided with making him forget. Even Ares and Mr D. Everyone knew percy would be needed in the future.

Zeus flashed the couple back into the room. The two were hugging like they knew what was to come. Percy looked drained and pale while Artemis was crying into his shoulder.

When they noticed the change of scenery, they broke apart but neither bowed.

"It has been decided that Perseus can live" percy smiles down at Artemis and tighted his grip on her "but we won't let you be together" their faces fell.

Percy searched everyone's faces. Some looked sympathetic, some looked disheartened. But artemis' face was by far the worst.

She looked broken. Percy reconised the shattered look in her eyes. The same look he saw in the mirror everyday before he come to Olympus.

"Everyone outside the council's memories will be erased of this relationship. Percy, you will forget you ever loved artemis"

He looked down at her and back up to the king of the gods.

"No" He said confidently pushing Artemis behind him. His eyes shone with an unrecognisable emotion.

"Percy you can't fight. You'll die, your drained. You promised to not die" Artemis whispered into his ear from behind but the gods still heard and were all surprised that she managed to calm him down.

Percy looked around the room desperate for a way out. He thought back to the last time he was in this room. Percy was promised a wish!

"I was promised a wish." He said with renewed hope. The council glanced around each other.

"I want to be with Artemis. I wish to be with Artemis"

"Percy. Artemis swore on the Styx not to act on any love. It's not in our power" his farther told him with regret in his eyes.

Percy looked into artemis' eyes. "Then I wish to atleast say goodbye to her. Alone" he said directing his words to the council. They were obligated to follow his wish so they all left.

Percy turned to Artemis and wrapped his arms around her again.
"It's my fault. I'm so sorry" she kept sobbing. Percy stroked her hair and rested his chin on her head.

"It's okay. It's not your fault. We'll be fine."

"How can we be fine? You're going to loose your memories."

Percy stepped back from Artemis and wiped her cheek. His hands then went behind his neck and pulled a leather chord over his head and proceeded to put If over hers.

Artemis looked down when she felt something cold dangling on her chest. It was a ring. She gasped and looked at percy. It was gorgeous. It had a large diamond in the middle, the band was made out of Atlantic iron and the jewel was crowned with pearls.

"It was my mums. Dad gave it to her before they were forced apart by Zeus." He explained slightly chuckling at how Zeus seems to tear relationships apart.
"As long as your wearing my mums ring round your neck, I'll find my way back to you" he promised.

He pulled her back in for another hug. "I love you artemis" he whispered for the first time.

Artemis tilted her head up and kissed him and murmuring something about loving him back.

"As long as you love me, I'll find my way back"

They each pulled away in time to see everyone flash back in.

Artemis returned to her throne suddenly confident that ever thing would be okay.

Percy walked to the centre of the room and nodded ashamed he didn't put up a bigger fight. He was drained. If he fought or used his powers he would die. He's promised to many people he wouldn't die.

He slowly nodded and turned to make eye contact with his girlfriend before he was hit with light and passed out.

Apollo took Percy back to his clinic while Artemis stayed staring at where Percy was standing.

Poseidon hated everything that happened today. He looked to Artemis and noticed the ring dangling round her neck. He smiled proud of his son. He did put up a fight. It was hidden from view, but he left a way back home.
