Planes and Rejections

Lenas POV
"On today's agenda we have several meetings and a bit of paperwork to arch up on." My old assistant Jess smiles. It doesn't seem as genuine as Eve always was.
"Thank you, if you'll excuse me I must prepare for my first meeting." My face was a void of emotion as it always was. The office is a place for work and work alone.
She nods and leaves as I sit in my chair. It's been harder and harder to concentrate. I got so used to having an office made of glass surrounded by employees that I could see. I don't have anything of the sorts here in L-Corp. I sigh dropping my head in the table knowing that's not the true reason. Kara told me she loved me three weeks ago... she said it with so much certainty even if she didn't mean to say it out loud. I sit up straight and compose myself as I gather my necessary papers needed for my first meeting. I walk in, power with each step showing nothing but confidence. I sit at the head of the table gesturing for them to start.
It's been about thirty minutes and I'm bored. I've never gotten bored in a meeting for L-Corp but the meetings at CatCo had jokes and fun entertaining concepts... not to mention a cute blonde reporter. I glance to the window in the room to see a plane flying in the direction of National City. It seems that's all my brain can think about. I belong there... with her. I should've told her I loved her, or I should've at least tried the long distance thing.
"... Miss Luthor?" On of the men said awkwardly, "Is... is everything alright?"
"I... I have to go." I stand up slowly, "I'll send someone in to take my place. Jess have them prepare my jet."
I walk out of the meeting slowly. I've never just left before. The farther away I got from L-Corp the more confidence I gained. The more determined. But that was all replaced by anxiety and fear in the flight there. That feeling stayed as the driver pulled up to CatCo. Stepping inside, the feeling eased. I glanced around and didn't see Kara... or her desk for that matter. I took a deep breath walking into Cats office.
    "I want CatCo back."
"Excuse me?" Cat asked raising an eyebrow.
"I... want... CatCo... back." I say with a bit more force.
"I'm sorry Miss Luthor But I'm not interested in selling my company again."
"Then you won't stop hearing from me until you do."
Cat sighed before speaking, "How much would you be paying for it this time?"
"As much as you want. I have taken a liking to National City and until I can have an L-Corp building here I'd like something to do until then."
"Who would take your place running CatCo once you leave?" Cat challenges.
"Kara Danvers." I answer without hesitation, "I think she could run CatCo better that you and I combined."
Cat smiles taking her seat, "Add ten thousand to the original price and you have a deal."
"Perfect." I smile. Now for the more challenging part.

Karas POV
"I could've gone to work Alex. You've been keeping me home for weeks. I'm fine." I complain slouched on my couch.
"The girl who very well could've been the love of your life rejected you after you flew all the way to Metropolis for. You're not fine." Alex says before hearing a knock at the door, "I'll get it."
"I doubt you'd even let me stand up." I grumble.
I hear Alex swing open the door, "What are you doing here?"
"Just let me talk to Kara, it will only take five minutes, tops." I'd know that accent anywhere.
"Give me one good reason why I should let you in?" Alex is still tearing her apart...
"Let her in Alex." I say standing up to face her.
"Fine..." She grumbles, "I'm gonna go get some take out." Alex moves aside letting Lena in and quickly leaving.
"What do you need Lena..." I probably sound exhausted to her...
"Two things but uh I'll start with the easier one. I rebought CatCo and I will be there until the L-Corp building here is ready. But once I leave I'll need someone to take over and I was wondering if you would be up for it..."
"Are you asking me to take over CatCo? Why?"
"You're an amazing reporter... you'd make sure that CatCo was staying true with their stories and would be looking for facts not gossip. If understand if you said no of course."
     "What's the second thing?"
Lena hesitated. I've never seen her hesitate, "I... I would like to fix things between us..."
"Absolutely not. You broke my heart after I told you I loved you. Things might've been different if it had been a day, but it has been three weeks."
"I know, and I was dumb. I should've have gone to that meeting, I should've stayed and I should've hugged or or kissed or told you that I love you too because I do. Kata Danvers you mean the world to me. You're my center of gravity without you I'm nothing."
".... I'll take over CatCo but I think our relationship should be strictly professional."
"Of... of course. I guess I'll see you at CatCo..."
     "Goodbye Lena..."
     "Goodbye."
