Audrey's POV

When we've arrived back at school, he walked me through the hallways and we began walking our separate ways.

I sigh and opened the door. It was unlock, huh. I thought I locked it before I left? Whatever.

I expected an angry Ryder waiting for me but there was nothing but silence when I entered.

Odd.

I shrugged anyways and went to freshen up and changed into a cozy outfit and slide under the covers while I do my homework. Then, watch some movies.

While I was doing my homework, there was a knock on the door. I stopped writing and walked towards the door. It was Ryder and he looked very exhausted.

"Hey, Ryder I—"

I was cut off with a sudden hug.

I froze in my spot for awhile then looked at Ryder. Something about him just isn't right. Was he drunk or something?

He just sat down on his bed and took out his homework.

"Do you need help with your homework?" He asked politely.

"Ummmm.....no, I'm good," I uncomfortably replied and sat back on my bed.

"Okay, then." He shrugged and completely focused on his homework.

I frowned at him, confused. He never does his homework together with me. I never even know if he ever did it. This is the first time he's done his homework in front of me.

Is it me or has he changed a little?

Once he's finished his, he went to the bathroom. Probably to take a shower while I took out my laptop and began to watch some random movies.

It was too quiet, besides the noise in the bathroom. I watched the movie boringly and my eyes slowly shut while listening to the movie characters speaking.

"Is that Finding Nemo?" A person with a very deep voice asked.

I scrunched my face as I slowly opened up my eyes again. Getting a little irritated by the disturbance.

"Haha, sorry to wake you up." He chuckled. I turned my head around to see who was bothering me. Of course, it was Ryder and our faces were so close to each other that it was just centimetres away.

He stopped laughing and noticed that our faces were so close. I could hear him breathing as the room became quiet. I stared into his gorgeous eyes and he stared into mine as well.

I don't know why but I have this weird feeling that I've never felt before. I stared down at his body then back up. He smirked at me but I didn't react.

It lasted for about minutes before he stopped and backed away. I realised it too and instantly looked back at my laptop with a blush on my cheeks.

But there's no way I could be falling for Ryder, right? Cause he's my roommate and it'll be so wrong.

When the movie finished, I yawned and shut my laptop then looked at Ryder who's already fast asleep in bed. He looks so peaceful. I blushed a little, thinking about what happened earlier. What was he thinking?

I shake my head in disbelief then pulled my blanket and within few minutes, the sleepiness took over me.

The next day

I opened my eyes to a bright and sunny room. I slowly rose up and stretched a little. I turned to look at Ryder but he wasn't in bed. Instead, a noise caught my attention. Ryder was already dressed up in his uniform and he's pulling something out from his drawer. It was his tie.

"Ryder?" I frowned.

He turned around and smiled at me lightly. "Good morning," he said.

"Morning...."

"You must be really confused right now. I remembered what you said yesterday and it got me thinking that I should've changed and be a little more mature. I shouldn't have been so bossy," he explained.

I plastered a smile on my face. It was actually generous of him to do this. I actually thought he would never have listened to me but somehow it happened. I just got to be patient.

I stood up and did my morning routine. Brushing my teeth, showering then changed into a nice simple plain pink dress. I walked out and wore my sneakers which might be odd for you but I do wear sneakers with a dress too. I mean like, if skirts are fine then dresses are too, right?

"Here," he said, handing me my bag.

I frowned again, I have no idea what hit him. I took my bag from his hand with an awkward expression on my face and unlocked the door then left.

Ryder's POV

I think it's working, she hasn't scolded me at all. All she did was frown cutely at me. She must be confused at first but sooner or later, she'll know why.

After school, we'll began to get into our positions like what I've explained to them yesterday. I've apologised to everyone of them for being such a bossy leader and friend. But my plans won't change.

It's either go big or go home.

And I'm not going home. I have to find out what Kevin is hiding in order to keep Audrey safe. No matter what, I can't let them hurt her. She's super fragile to me and it'll hurt to see her suffer.

We entered the classroom, it was still very early. But class began to fill in with commotions. I looked at Audrey and all she did was frown.

What a cute frown.

Stop it, Ryder.

Stop getting distracted.

Then, Jeremy walked towards us and I glared at him, telling him to back off but he just laughed like I was some kind of joke.

What does he want from us now?

"How was your date with Jeremy, Audrey?" One of the guys in the classroom asked and the class laughed.

"What date?" I asked.

I know I saw Jeremy and Audrey yesterday but they couldn't be dating. That doesn't sound like Audrey at all. This must be a rumour.

"Awe, didn't you know? No! Because you left her at her dorm alone and went over to your friend's dorm to do some "boys stuff", am I right?" Jeremy childishly blabbed.

I held my fist tightly so I won't blow it but he just kept blabbing like he's some kind of superstar.

I look at Audrey and her face was all red. It looks like she is about to cry.

"What did you say to them?" She spat out, with a cracked voice. She sounds hurt.

Oh, just wait Jeremy.

Sooner or later, you'll be crying for your momma.

Just wait.

"Oh, Audrey. Remember about our date yesterday? We watched The Nun and you were all scared so I held you in my arms like this." He demonstrated a hug and it disgusts me.

"Pfft. Me? Scared? I'm Audrey Woodstock, I was born to watch horror movies. Give me a good reason why I should be scared?" She said and the whole class oohed.

Jeremy's expression went stern but I was mentally laughing inside. Audrey's really one interesting girl who seems like she knows how to roast.

I like it.

"Well.....b-because you're a girl and..... y-you're a c-coward," he stuttered.

The class oohed a little louder and Audrey's expression was blank. Then, a smirk grew on her face.

I'm starting to like the confidence she's bringing.

"Jeremy oh, Jeremy," she said, feeling shameful for him. "Don't lie, if I were you I would give up now cause once everyone knows the truth. You'll be sorry," she said while finalising her last three words. The class went crazy. But he only grew angrier.

"I have proof that we were having a friendly hangout," she said, holding her phone, waving it up in the air confidentially.

"I know I couldn't trust the moment I met you in the bus so I recorded everything," she said.

She plugged in her phone to the monitor and played the whole thing on the projector of our classroom in front of everyone in class.

She totally nailed it.

She was able to take a video of him during the movie. He was covering his face with both of his hands and when a scream was heard, he immediately panicked and shut his eyes and ears like a scaredy cat. Everyone in class laughed at him and some started to mock him, "Scaredy cat."

The point is, there was no hugging scene. So, whatever Jeremy said was just a made up story.

Afterwards, she paused the video and unplugged it from the monitor. The whole class glared at him and a few guys came out front and walked over to him, demanding for something. He sighed and took out a $10 bill and handed it over to each of them. I suspected that they were betting with him this entire time. 

But hah, Jeremy was caught red-handed!

Before we ended his embarrassment, he glared at the both of us before returning back to his seat.

"It's too late now, should've admit it earlier," she said with a shrug and I just chuckled.

This is such an interesting day.
