I woke up this morning feeling well rested and happy for once, but two things were off this odd morning. I wasn't sleeping beside Red, and there was a growling Vulpix on my stomach. I looked over the couch to see Red very irritated and tired, which was odd because I've never see him like that before. He glanced my way and gave me a very small and tired smile. I looked back at the Vulpix who was now staring at me with big round eyes, eagerly wagging her tail as if telling me she wanted to leave.

"Okay, I'm not sure what happened between you two last night but I don't want it happening at work this morning alright?" I got up from the couch and gave a brutal yawn, I bet I looked like a Golbat. I started up the stairs to my shared room, but Red followed right behind me in fast pursuit. I raised a curious eyebrow, wondering what he wanted to say.

We got into our room and I shut the door. Red sat on the bed, he propped his elbows onto his thighs and rested his head on his hands. He stared at me with the most ridiculously cute pout he could possibly muster up. I could feel my face heat up from the look he was giving me, I asked him what was wrong as I sat beside him.

"That Vulpix doesn't like me... one bit. She kept scratching me all night.! We barely got any sleep." He now rested his head on my head and sighed heavily. I rubbed his back and nuzzled his shoulder. "Red, it was only the first day for you two. I'm sure she'll warm up to you eventually. Maybe you have to be more cheerful and smiley around her, I know she likes that."

He lifted his head to look at me and gave a small hearty smile. "I guess you're right ____... I'll try harder to get her approval of me. That'll be my goal for the time being, to get her to like me for your sake.!"

He gave me a big closed mouthed smile and side-hugged me. I laughed and pushed him off of me. "Red! I gotta get ready for work now okay?" He sighed and left the room, giving me some privacy.

"Hi Gramps! We're here, Vulpix had a uhm... interesting night with us last night." I walked up to him while Red put on his lab coat and Vulpix was trying to tear it to shreds.

Gramps looked over at the two and sighed. "Doesn't seem like they're getting along quite well yet." I gave a little smile and nodded. "Yeah, they aren't. They were up most of the night because she kept scratching him..." He sweatdropped and shook his head.

"I'm sure they'll get along soon enough. As i am also sure you'll be able to help them reach a friendship level that's good enough for the two of them." I gave a shaky laugh and nodded. "I... I really do hope so hahaha."

Red, Vulpix and I entered the Greenhouse full of Pokémon and sat down where all the Pokémon usually go to greet me for the day.

When they saw Red some of them froze, some of them were still happy, and the rest seemed just like Vulpix. I looked around confused, why were they acting this way towards Red?

"Hey, come on guys! What's up with this sudden attitude change? Why don't you guys like Red?" Some of them went to curl at my legs or rest on my head and shoulders.

Red, being very observant about the situation, finally realized why they were hating on him.

"____. I think they're jealous of me." I looked up at him and cocked my head to the side. "Jealous? Of you? Why would they be jealous of you?" I didn't realize it, but those words lightly stung him. "They're probably jealous because they might be thinking you'll spend more time with me then with them."

I stared at the ones at the ground in disbelief. "You guys... Of course not! I want to play with you and feed you and well... spend some time with each and every one of you! I'm just going to be handing over my job to Red because I got a very important job coming up soon. But I will come here as much as I can to play with you guys!"

By now the Pokémon that were attached to me were on the ground or further away with the other Pokémon. They all began to look at each other with sad eyes and looked back up at me.

I sighed, I didn't realize they loved me this much. I mean I know I'm profoundly great and all but, I had no idea.

Red was staring at me with a pitiful stare. This must be as hard for me as it is for the Pokémon. He came up to me and hugged me tightly. "____, you know it'll all be okay for them. I will make sure nothing bad comes of them and no arguments will go unsolved, okay?"

The Pokémon had started off glaring at Red, but now they're all looking up at him with either embarrassment or sympathy. The smaller Pokémon climbed on us and stood all around.

Once we let go of each other, we looked down to see Vulpix looking embarrassed. "Vul... Vulpix." She put her head down in shame and started to shake a little.

Red picked her up and stroked her poofy hair. "Hey... It's alright. We still need to get used to each other that's all.!"

Vulpix stopped shaking and looked up at him. She smiled and nodded her head and hopped back to the ground beside her other little friends.

"I hope that settles it?" I clasped my hands together and looked at the two of them. Vulpix shrugged and scurried off along with the other Pokémon.

I sighed and looked at Red. "I'm sure she's going to be shy for a while, along with the others." He looked down at me and shrugged. "Hey, fine with me... as long as we get along and become friends." I smiled and shoved him a little bit with my arm.

"I'm sure you all with become great friends soon enough."

Ahhh... It's short and kinda no action. But I'm going to try to build it up soon... maybe end this story with a lemon?
