(POV: Ash)

'Travel to Alola, to a factory by the name of Round Industries,' ordered Mr Armond.

'Round Industries?' I asked. 'What do they produce?'

'Pika,' said Pikachu.

'They make Poké Balls,' said Mr Armond. 'Someone's trying to threaten their factory, but they've got no clue about it. When one of their Poké Balls is used on a Pokémon, that Pokémon disappears, but it's not the factory's fault. However, everyone is convinced that it is their fault, and all are blaming it on Ms Round, the manager of the factory.'

'Right,' I said.

'Oh, and one more thing: once you get the information needed, you'll be presenting the news story.'

'Wait, me? What happened to Lucy?' (Lucy was the usual news presenter.)

'She's come down with a case of chickenpox,' replied Mr Armond. 'Nobody else wants to take her place, so you'll do it.'

I felt like I had been punched in the stomach. How could I possibly present a news story?

See, I'm a journalist. This was one of the most interesting cases I've ever been on, and I'd like to share my story to the Pokémon world.

I travel with my partner Pikachu, who's been at my side ever since my tenth birthday. We've travelled everywhere together, and I don't know what I would ever do with Pikachu at my side. Also, at this very moment, while I write this sentence, Pikachu just wants to say hi. So, this is a big hallo to all of you, from Pikachu!

So off we went, on our way to the airport.

'We gotta be quick, Pikachu,' I panted, whilst sprinting. 'We woke up late, remember?'

'Pikachu!' breathed Pikachu, running beside me.

Soon we had reached the plane to Alola. As soon as we hopped onto it, I leaned against the plane door.

'We made it,' I said under my breath. We took our seats, and the plane took off as soon as we clicked our seatbelts on.

For most of the journey I think I slept. But when we arrived in Alola, I flung the doors open, and me and Pikachu felt the sunshine hit our faces.

'We're back, Alola!' I exclaimed as we jumped off of the plane.

Of course, before we went to Round Industries, I just had to visit Professors Kukui and Burnet. As well as Lei.

'Hi, Professor Kukui!' I said as the door was opened by him.

'Is that the Ash Ketchum?' exclaimed the professor, scratching his head. 'Well, what a Gigavolt Havoc to see you here!'

'Yup,' I said, widely grinning. 'I'm here to find out about Round Industries, but wanted to pay a visit here first.'

'Can I hear Ash?' said Professor Burnet, coming out of the door with a young brown-haired boy.

'Hi, Professor Burnet!' I exclaimed. 'Is this Lei?'

'That's right!' said the Professor. 'Lei, this is your big brother, Ash!'

The brown-haired boy bounced up to me with glowing green eyes and a big smile.

'Are you really my big brother?' he asked eagerly.

'Well, I guess you could say I'm your Alolan big brother, so yup!' I said happily.

'That means you're Nia's big brother too!'

'Nia?' I asked.

'Oh, right!' said Professor Burnet. 'Now Lei's got a little sister! Come on out, Nia!'

A small girl with maroon hair creeped out from behind the front door. She had the same glowing eyes as her brother's, but her eyes were golden.

'Hello Nia,' I said. 'I'm your Alolan big brother!'

'A-Are you really?' she said. From her voice, I inferred that she was no older than 5.

I gently nodded.

'So Mommy and Daddy didn't get married ten years ago?' she asked. I sniffed.

'No-- Well, they did, but--'

'We looked after Ash while he was travelling through Alola,' interrupted Professor Kukui. I sighed in relief. 'After that Lei was born, and when Ash visited, we told him that he would be your Alolan big brother.'

'Oh,' blabbered Nia. 'So your name's Ash?'

'That's right,' I replied.

'So, did you say you wanted to find Round Industries?' asked Professor Kukui. I nodded.

'Well, you turn right from here, then go straight,' he continued. 'Then you should find a white building with a Poké Ball; the top half says "Round" and the bottom half says "Industries".'

'Thanks Professor,' I said.

'You two best be on your way,' said Professor Burnet.

'Right. Bye!' I exclaimed as me and Pikachu ran off, following the directions Professor Kukui had given us.

We sprinted straight, but that was when we got... well... I guess you could say sidetracked.

Suddenly, a girl came into my view. All I knew at the moment was that she had short blue hair and looked peculiarly familiar.

'Pikachu,' said Pikachu suddenly, then ran after her.

'Hey-- Pikachu!' I exclaimed, trying to catch up with it.

We ended up twisting through alleyways just to find that girl. She wasn't in my view anymore, because I was just following Pikachu. But when we escaped from the maze of buildings, there she was: fishing on the port near the sea.

She wore a sailor's hat on her head and a sailor's outfit, but instead of wearing - well, boots - she wore sandals. She also had an extremely familiar Primarina next to her, as well as a Vaporeon I thought I knew.

Then, without warning, the Primarina looked back at us, did a double-take, and shot a Bubble Beam at us!

As me and Pikachu felt wetness launch onto us, and we both fell to the floor, the girl looked back with sparkling blue eyes and a wide grin.

'Ash, is that you?' she asked.

I sat up painfully. Now that I was able to see her face, I realised she was--

'Lana?' I exclaimed. 'Uh--'

'What brings you here?' she said, helping me up. She then noticed Pikachu. 'Hi again, Pikachu!'

Pikachu squealed. I got to my feet and brushed myself down.

'Well, I'm a journalist, and I've been told to inspect Round Industries,' I explained. 'We got lost along the way, I think.'

'I gotta say,' said Lana, '10 years have passed, but it doesn't seem you two have changed a bit!'

'I guess,' I replied, scratching my head.

Primarina and the Vaporeon from before walked up to me, squeaking in excitement.

'Hello again, Primarina!' I said, then looked to the Vaporeon. 'And this must be--'

'Sandy,' said Lana. 'It evolved!'

'Oh, cool!' I said. 'Uh, do you know the way to Round Industries?'

'Before I show you the way, you've gotta meet up with everyone again!' exclaimed Lana, dragging me along. Before I had time to object, we were off. 'You won't believe what's changed!'
