The Poppy Girl
Spencer Rose was what you'd call an outcast. She went to school, didn't talk, then left to go pick poppies. The entirety of the small town in Canada she lived in knew her. They knew her mother was killed on a hunting trip leaving her father to raise her alone. They knew that she didn't talk for that reason. They didn't know that she picked poppies because they were her mother's favorite plant. They didn't know she went dangerously close to the 'Frozen Cave' because the most vibrant flowers were there. They didn't know as much as they thought.Celosia Valentine was cast out of the town as a baby, and never spoken of again. She had powers she didn't know how to control. Luckily, a kind old lady found her, and taught her to speak, live, and hunt in the wild. When she was 10, the woman died. Celosia went into hiding, learning how to further harness her abilities, and not be found by the monsters called humans.The darkness is inside us all.
