"That anger was a spark- A flame that was supposedly extinguished long ago, disrupted by the unforeseen fuck-ups of a specific golden-furred simian. Sun Wukong, being the ignorant idiot he was, should have accidentally unleashed a fire's fury onto the dragon known as Ao Lie, that was how the story was supposed to go. Instead, the wave of flames swam through the air before they swirled right back into Redson. That was it. The fire was sealed, that was all anyone knew. The accident seemed so insignificant, as if Wukong's trip up never happened. But appearances were deceiving. They mattered. More than anybody realized."

The world was never kind to Redson. He knew that. So the moment his mother tore apart something he loved, he snapped. Flame by flame, Redson's suppressed anger found itself burning Megapolis to smithereens. He hoped the Monkie Kid burned along with it.

Or a quick summary: After withstanding his shit parents one final time, Redson reobtains the samadhi fire. He decides to do something with the power he holds. The "do something" in question being crushing the Monkie Kid and his stupid friends.
