"Are you human?" He whispered lowly, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear."I don't know," she choked, watching the change before her eyes, "Am I?" The year is 3075, and the Earth is dying. A few decades after the tsunami that destroyed California, many followed suit. The first hit Australia, killing much of its wildlife and civilians; It destroyed the land even more. Then, what used to be called New York was destroyed. Millions died, the land lost under the ocean's rising sea levels. They kept coming, killing many and destroying what people had once called their homes. It was only a short matter of time until scientists had discovered the reason for all the destruction: People had gone too far. Global warming, plants dying, the extinction of millions of species of animals. Things that had once kept out world from collapsing were now gone. We were dying. But, something even worse was headed our way. The moon had grown, almost four times the size it had been in the 50's. 2050, that is. Asteroids and meteors had smashed into the moon, creating a colossal rock of molten lava. It grew larger than the Earth, and we were now orbiting it. It had been controlling our tides, destroying our land. Now, it was changing our people. 'The Shining', a disease that had spread mysteriously, was killing us. Those who survived were called Shiners. They were given the task of creating a new civilization, but some disagreed. They wanted to be rid of humans and have the Earth to themselves, the elite few who had survived and had became extraordinary, legends. They were cast away and a thriving civilization was built. Walls to shield them from their oncoming doom. So what happens when the enemies come back for vengeance?

Two of the babies had complications at birth so they had to stay in the nursery for a couple of days. They discharged my parents with my other two siblings.
