Il sottotenente Calibano Belli ha nostalgia di casa. Lasciato l'attendente a russare, si allontana in diagonale verso le traballanti linee nemiche... Vuole disertare? è semplicemente confuso? ha dato un indirizzo errato alla sua voglia di evasione psicofisica? Seguitelo passo passo nella sua discesa in direzione di un inferno non solo personale, dove le facce si assomigliano, e si distanziano tutte. E l'identità di ognuno è un lancio di dadi truccati sull'impiantito del vivere amaro.
