Hayat Amanullah was always the pampered child in her household. With loving, hardworking parents and two older brothers who were more like best friends, Hayat was never neglected of anything. She had no sense of responsibility, no worry in the world, and knew her family would always be her safety net. Abruptly, tragedy strikes the family with such force that they're left scrambling to cope with an enormous loss. Her mom no longer leaves her room, her dad buries his grief in his work, and her remaining brother becomes distant and indifferent. Hayat's life turns upside down, and suddenly she goes from the happy-go-lucky, carefree teenager to the woman taking care of her entire household. Struggling to recalibrate and feeling more alone than ever, Hayat pursues comfort outside her home, in befriending her best friend's brother, who she's had a crush on forever. Yet, despite the growing intensity of their friendship, Hayat is drawn to her dead brother's best friend time and time again, for reasons she can't explain.Attempting to understand her emotions, Hayat falls into destructive methods of healing. Which, despite the damage they inflict on her, might just be the glue that brings her family back together. And along the way she learns that, despite experiencing the same tragedy, a family can handle grief in so many different ways.~#2 in revival: 3/26/24#6 in startingfresh: 8/13/22

In the timeline of Lord George Carnarvon of Tutankhamun fame there are many myths and legends and indeed lies ( including damned lies ). These lies surround the life and times and death of George Edward Stanhope Molyneux Herbert, the 5th Earl of Carnarvon ( formerly Lord Porchester ) of Highclere Castle, famed as the co-discoverer with his devoted lover Howard Carter of the Tomb of the boy King Tutankhamun in Egypt in 1922. Before the centenary let us hope the historical record is corrected and the truths told. The piece that follows by William Cross, biographer of Almina, Countess of Carnarvon ( George's wife) attempts to correct some of the inaccuracies.

Jamie has it all - depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, and a hate for her endless acne. With no friends, a distant family, and a nonexistent love-life, Jamie has made it through her twenties by hanging onto her dream of becoming a professional singer. In the past, she was presented with opportunities, but her fear got the best of her. When a unique talent competition can help start her career, Jamie will either try again or move on for good. These days, adulthood can be summed up as a time in a person's life where many questions are asked, and the answers are either N/A or sugar-coated, leaving them to figure it out on their own. They say society has a low-attention span. They say people don't read these days. Would it be surprising that the answers to life could be found in a special book? From the author: I wrote this story in hopes of helping readers face their fears, issues, past, etc. Even though life is hard at times, never stop asking questions and never settle for any answer. Your life matters, and you are loved more than you know. I hope you read this story to the very end. Thank you!
