"You won't be able to control yourself?" I teased, smirking as his face went a deep shade of red.He immediately stood up from the chair and jumps onto the bed with me. He lay on his side, facing me, while I lay on my side, facing him.I sucked in a breath at how close we are."You'll know when I can't control myself, princess. But you don't want to be sending me those comments because then I really won't be able to control myself," he replied, brushing a strand of hair out of my face.I would be lying if I said it didn't feel good when he touched my face, that feeling of warmth-"I make you speechless, do I?" he asked, smirking at my prominent blush."I would say this makes you speechless," I replied as I run my hand soothingly through his hair."Princess..." he said after a few seconds, breathing out slowly."Hmm?" I wrote this wanting to explore a different writing genre and expand my writing capabilities. I thought writing about a current day issue would make my piece powerful. I liked the way the poem turned out and I hope you do to☺️

If You Feel Like Crying

Merely Existing

The smell of blood never leaves. The trail of blood never ends. Blacky Jackson may not have been a normal child, but she did have a normal life....up till the age of five, that is.Things went badly wrong after that, pushing her towards a blood filled path of slaughter. Things may have been set in motion when she lost her family. Or when she roamed the streets. Or when she first held a gun and sealed her heart. All she knew was that she had been dancing upon the palms of one lethal man. Even as she tried to escape from her bloody fate, at every corner guns were pointed at her, knives were thrown at her and people chased after her with time bombs, no less. Her life was turning out to be an endless pursuit for survival. Her sole thought was to live. It was a task, a duty, a prayer, a wish and a purpose in life that she clung on to move forward.How do you live? Breathing, staying alive, surviving.....but isn't that called merely existing?

What could possibly go wrong? That phrase has brought so much Karma to literally everyone who's ever said, heard, or even thought that. Well, Zoe Sparks, a normal sophomore at Westwood High School, has somehow come across that kind of situation, except the awful events just keep continuing. First her best friend signs her up for the Talent Show in two days without asking her, the cool kids are saying that she's not cool enough, which makes her feel more ambitious than she was feeling in the first place, and on top of it all, your math teacher gives you a pop quiz worth about a hundred points.What could possibly go more wrong?
