Dans le même temps, j'avais percuté le pare-brise et la tôle du camion m'avait envoyé me coucher sur mon siège. Fracture du crâne... coma... Je palpais méthodiquement mon épaule, mon humérus, mon coude. Mon bras gauche avait été écrabouillé, comme la portière dans laquelle il était resté prisonnier trois heures durant. J'avais fait deux arrêts cardiaques, perdu plus de la moitié de mon sang. Du sang dans les urines, du sang dans les reins, du sang dégoulinant de mes oreilles, de mes yeux, de mon nez. Les gendarmes étaient venus annoncer mon décès à mes parents. Et moi j'étais resté des semaines entre la vie et la mort. Je ne me rappelais pas de mon accident, mais je prenais soin de garder en mémoire deux moments de mon coma, dont j'avais le souvenir, que je n'avais jamais partagé avec personne.
