A Familiar Story

In 17th century England, Marjorie Sibbell worked beside her poor family at their small bakery, trying to provide for her younger siblings. Her life was grey and hopeless until she realized that she had a gift for healing animals and gaining their trust. But although she first saw this calling as a reprieve from her dark life, it is this gift that thrust her into the dark world of the European witch trials. Accused of consorting with animal familiars, she is torn from her family and into the flames of public scorn and hatred.

Audrey.

Audrey is just a 10 year old with a difficult life. Divorced parents, no real friends, and an abusive mom, you get the picture. 5th grade comes to a close, as a new summer starts up. Audrey gets back home, just to be greeted by a whole month and a half of maltreatment. Shortly after, her mom gets back from the local bar. Armed. And drunk. She's running around the house, trigger happy, and tipsy. Until Audrey realizes, that's enough. She grabs a lantern, and her cat, and evacuates out of the house frantically, running to a bus stop. Her only ambition was to get to her dad's house, to escape this miserable life she was living. She keeps running, and running, until she loses all of her energy. She goes unconscious. And wakes up... somewhere.. new.. Completely dark. It was time for Audrey to brave through the dark city, to find her father. Audrey comes to the realization.This summer was definitely going to be one that Audrey would never forget.
