A selection of recently made poems. Critique the hell out of these!CONTENTS: - Dream Beginning October - A poem based on a prompt, exploring the strangeness and attributed meaning or even beauty of vivid dreams. Based on my own dream... beginning October. - Eyes of a Crow - Poem about the nature of indiscriminate revenge. The anaphoric nature of the first and last stanza show the imagery of the crows who seek revenge in real life and the narrator himself.- The World's Greatest Graffiti, Washed Away -Poem that criticises nihilism, especially that of rejection of culture for the sake of joy. The Bielsa Redentor graffiti has not actually been washed away, nor has Bielsa himself died, but this was inspired by the Leeds United celebratory art by the Burley Banksy.- Divinity -Another criticism of nihilism, this time of meaning. The idea that the whole world is deontological and the world changes to fit the views of the person. I.E. A stoic reflects on the world as a challenge, a nihilist sees earth as tortuous. A comment on the virtue of indomitability.- Objectivity -A mirror to the previous poem in structure and viewpoint. It depicts the viewpoint of the nihilist and refutes it immediately as one who does not have drive wastes all his efforts. Uses images such as tantalus to express the severity of the nihilistic condition as opposed to an indomitable one. The world is a Transformer: more than meets the eye.- The Pond: A Fantasy -Another poem inspired by a dream, but also inspired by the iterative nature of Bach's Prelude in Cm (BWV999). This and the other dream I have very strong emotional attachment too, which is reflected in the constant near-rhyming and cyclical nature of the poem which denotes a completeness of self, and a harmony.
