Whispers from the Sky
Author's Note:During spring break of my freshman year of college (Spring 2012), I wrote the first incarnation of this poem. I had just finished watching Cowboy Bebop. The poem had no connection to it other than TONS of references to blue things - eyes, the sky, the night. It then languished in a file on my computer for several years. Recently, I made edits to this poem, and I had just finished viewing the first Matrix movie for the first time. Again, no connection other than the swift removal of all the blue references. It is funny how much pop culture has a hold on us. I also didn't think that the color added anything either. I was trying to streamline the poem. The main idea I found in the jumbled original was that it was about identity and the constant search to be who you truly are - not what people or society tell you to be or perceive you to be. The chain symbolized that gravity, the seriousness and weight. The voice from the sky is that still, small whisper that lies deep within you and is the "real you" - when you washed everything else away. Why the sky? The feeling of disconnection and distance from the "you" that other people and society sees and the you that is truly you. The drive is to want to reconnect with yourself - finding and returning to your true self. The idea of flight is pretty simple - let's leave the poem on a high note. Humanity has always been fascinated by flight because something is freeing in it. We looked gravity in the face and said, "screw you". The same applies to all the weight that we feel from others and society, the roles that we feel we must play. There is great freedom in telling the chain: "Screw you. I'm going to listen instead to the voice that is the very core of my being, and I'm going to be me". Also, as someone who has long dealt with mental health issues (which sometimes feel like living with a bully 24/7/365), it is also immensely freeing to tell the same thing to that jerk as well.

Unending Bravery

It is a very miserable existence indeed when your death would makes those you've not wronged happy.Then incomes their new teammates Sakura, Sasuke, and Kakashi. Kakashi and sasuke also have had traumatic past events in their lives and are able to understand them better than anyone else ever had. And while Sakura may not be able to relate to the four's pain she knows as their teammate she will try her absolute best to help them. Because there are some very powerful opponents they must overcome. When it's all said and done they'll need their teammates for these battles. Pairings are Naruhina, Sasusaku. others will be revealed as story progresses.
