Tego być może się dowiecie, ale nie ufajcie też temu opisowi... Jest jedyna zasada w tym wszechświecie sterowanym przez Ciphera, zapisana rękami Forda w nieistniejących już Dziennikach "Trust no one"

Rok temu, dzień przez zakończeniem pierwszej klasy liceum, pokłóciłam się z jedną dziewczyną, która się ze mnie wyśmiewała, bo jestem z Londynu. Popchnęła mnie, a potem ja ją, w ten sposób powstała bójka. Nauczyciele nas rozdzielili, a ta dziwka nagadała wszystkim, żeto ja ją pierwsza uderzyłam. Dziecinne prawda? No cóż "Barbie" wszystko uszło na sucho, a mi się oberwało i na dodatek rodzice uwierzyli tej dziwce i przez to nie pojechałam na wakacje z moją przyjaciółką Klarą. Razem z Klarą planowałyśmy to od wielu miesięcy, a tu dupa. Wtedy zawarłam zrodzicami umowę - ja w przyszłym roku nic nie odwalam, a oni fundują mi wakacje. Ale czy mi się to uda? Tego dowiecie się czytając tę książkę.
