Pausing Heartbeats

Befriending the monsters (first draft)

In the year of 2013 little nine-year-old Skyler's mother dies. Skyler and her friend Tearon (and soon to be partner) now need to face their fears and fight against the evil forces they know as there friends. Skyler's father is what some might call a 'deadbeat' but really he just might have been the smartest person in Sky's life. Skyler's father walked out on her when she was 4, the reason why he walked out was Skyler's mother; after declaring her a 'crazy psycho bitch' he packed his bags, took their car, and left off to a small town in New Jersey. Tearon's dad has been diagnosed with psychosis over a year ago when he killed Tearon's mother. Now living in the past Tearon is having a hard time ridding herself of the wretched memory of her dad killing the only person that ever loved him.
