Coup de Grace

They say that a man doesn't really know himself until he finds himself challenged by overwhelming odds or until he stumbles upon a vast whirlpool of both uncertainty and defeat...That made me know who I am, what I want to be, and what I need to be...As my days turned slowly into countless years, from a young boy to a man, I deliberately thought that I've discovered what hardships and sacrifices truly meant...God, was I fooled to believe...May I ask you, how well do you know yourself?

Good day...My name is James Hanson, and I represent the combined might of my people, call this as my important statement and mayhap my final manifesto...Call this what you will, I may not return home but may this story reach you...I am here to make the record straight...I'm here to right the wrong...Our homeland is beset by great conflict and I've been sent by the Directorate to intervene...The subject matter is so great, our margin for error is slight, our own destruction looms just over the horizon, and our only chance is to unite against the foredooming shadow that is yet to come lest we be swept by the blood of our own folly. True, we have no idea on what's going to unfold in the future, but one thing is certain that our spirit is indomitable and our cause is resolute: We will do anything it takes to save our people, my responsibility is too great to do anything less...Shall this be my stand...I'll gladly oblige myself for lifting this burden from my people for my course is set, my path is laid bare and today and henceforth, my spirit seeks to challenge fate itself...
