In the bustling city of Madison, where the hum of traffic blends with the rhythm of life, two seemingly contrasting worlds collide. On one side of the spectrum is Jack, the rugged biker guy whose leather-clad exterior hides a heart fueled by wanderlust and a passion for adventure. On the other side stands Emily, the quiet and bookish girl with a mane of unruly curls and an affinity for vintage bookstores, her cozy sanctuary amidst the chaos of city life. *Disclaimer: I wrote this book back in school, so it's a bit subpar, but I get a kick out of it, and I hope you will too.***After the peculiar and puzzling deaths of six local students, Sara Foley, a senior in High School, is forcibly sent overseas by her mentally unstable and misguided mother, to stay with "relatives," who could just as easily qualify as strangers, for how well known or trusted they are by the Foley family.It is summer, and Sara is accompanied on her journey by her older sister Ann, who has been instructed to look after her during their stay in Ireland. Completely irresponsible, her eighteen year old, "older" sister conjures more chaos than she quells. On their first night abroad the sisters Foley get lost - in both body and spirit - having drunkenly strayed miles away from their intended homestay. Rote Idlers' Palimpsest chronicles their cross-country adventures, wherein they encounter allies, enemies, (love interests and lunatics) accomplices, and characters arguably more detached and deranged than they themselves. In the end they grow to suspect an elevated level of the esoteric runs the elaborate and eclectic lines of their family lineage, yielding some, but not all answers as to the cataclysmic deaths that set their initial journey in motion.

The teachers are stupid, since they don't seem to mind that their students are ditching their lectures to have sex at the back of the class. Iris M. Augustine, 19 years old, part-time illustrator and full-time fine arts student at California College of Designs and Arts. Currently living on her on own in a smaller apartment located in downtown L.A with monthly allowance sent into her account, these really are perks of having wealthy parents. When she's not busy holed up in her room drawing her day away or trying to keep up with the newest manga and indulge in her Korean boy groups craze, she's relatively normal. Or at least that's what she likes to think anyway. Nickname: Sadako, Eight. Austin "AJ" Beaumont, 20 years old, full-time game developer and part-time game design student at California College of Designs and Arts. Currently sharing a room at the Webster Hall dormitory with the only other employee of his brand new game startup, Genius Lab. Even if the world was being destroyed or a natural disaster happen, he never really stays in his room for too long. He likes to think that the hipster label doesn't apply to him, he prefers the term "wanderlust" much more. Nickname: Ooozestain, "AJ", Booman. So just how did these two who seem to have nothing in common besides the fact that they attend the same college as each other just happen to collide in each other's lives?
