Prologue:Are you familiar with the game Halo? You know, the one where Master Chief goes and saves the world from the invasive Covenant? It's really cool. The graphics are amazing, and it's a fun game to play. Actually experiencing it, however, was a completely different story. When you see them, you're scared. You don't know what to do as the disfigured creatures shred the bodies of your friends with their advanced weaponry; all you can do is watch your friends die or experience yourself dying as a martyr protecting the ones you love the most. You feel fear, anger, terror, helplessness. You watch the nightmare unfold with despair. They come when you least expect it, and they hit you with everything they have. They leave cities to ruin, homes to ashes, bodies to dust. Adrenaline rushes through your veins and you quickly acquire a taste for blood and revenge, a feeble attempt to restore the justice that they destroyed at their arrival. You become convinced there's no such thing as justice, that there never was. There's nothing you can do as you watch the world fall apart.I lived the nightmare. I watched as my friends and family died in my arms, the light fading from their eyes, their bodies going still and limp. I felt their final breaths sighing from their bodies with their final, fatal heartbeats. I experienced the blood and vengeance that came from intergalactic war and the stillness and horror of mass genocide and death. I will not deny what I saw, and I cannot forget.My only warning to you is this:If you see them, run.
