England during 17th-century bubonic plague epidemic. Young herbalist Rosalynn Seward lives her peaceful life in a small cottage on the skirts of Eyam. Her life changes drastically when a plague doctor appears in the village looking for an apprentice who would help him stop the spread of the disease. Together, Rosalynn and the Doctor are roaming through England in search for an antidote while dealing with their own past and social prejeudices their will encounter through their journey. Free of her psychosis, Catherine started to realize the scale of her crimes against the colonists. While in jail, she is riddled by feelings of guilt and remorse. Plagued by nightmares and loss of appetite, her health is declining. As recent history's most hated person, her life is in constant danger. The newly appointed secretary of defense devises a plan to take care of all those problems by getting rid of the main cause. Sentenced to three consecutive lifetime prison sentences with no chance of parole, the secretary offers Catherine a deal.
