Although it has made a change in today's world, Plastic is slowly replacing the works of nature and quite frankly deteriorating the lifespan of humans and the earth itself. This is a story that I wish to submit to National Geographic using #PlanetOrPlastic to join them in their fight against single-use plastics.

If we continue the way we are going we may loose everything we call beautiful.
A story written for the National Geographic contest. Curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction bought it back. Give it a read!
Here's a short story on one of the many issues we are trying to tackle. Tonnes of plastic is generated on a daily basis; I wanted to explore the idea that this not only effects humans but also sea life and the ocean beds. The seven seas are referenced a couple of times because the issue of plastic use isn't bound by one specific area. It is the entirety of all oceans that surround land on Earth. I hope you enjoy my entry for National Geographic and Wattpad.#PlanetOrPlastic
2049, 30 years from now, the Earth turns yellow. There is no blue sky, green ground, or transparent water. There is only dust, harmful bacteria, and viruses, even food and water are toxic. Scientists try to save the Earth with whatever they can but fail, even moving to another planet like Mars cannot be done because resources are no longer available. The last thing that can be used is using existing technology, one of which is to make contact lenses that manipulate the human eye to see the broken Earth into the same Earth as 30 years before. ***** Short stories consisting of less than 500 words. Was presented by Selist Emerald Valley to join the contest of "National Graphic Planet or Plastic Writing Contest".

Legacy - something that is a result of events in the past. We've reached the tipping point where plastic pollution is concerned. If we don't act soon, the legacy we leave behind for our children may not be as rosy as we imagine. My entry for the National Geographic Planet or Plastic competition. My piece is themed on the legacy we leave for our children and children's children because of the durable plastic mess we have created.
We say we're sorry. You don't have to forgive us. ~ Plastic pollution is a global issue. And while we do feel bad about it, we aren't doing anything to stop it. And that's wrong. This is my entry for the #PlanetOrPlastic writing contest by National Geographic.(While my story isn't directly about the pictures given, it's inspired by them.)Enjoy!
"What an ungrateful creatures we are. We already know the solution to the pollution, I will make them to take action." I spoke feeling hot tears on my cheeks.********"....I hope it will not come to this, but if the darkness arrive, with darkness comes death. Soon there would be just the sound of the dead." That was the last thing I heard.*********Let's make a difference!#PlanetOrPlastic #beatplasticpollutionCompleted: 10/22/18@NationalGeographic
A boy who lives in a technological pod of the future comes across a note written 450 years before by another boy.
This story is inspired by the seahorse with a cotton swab stuck on the end of its tail. The story is from his point of view.
A teenage girl named Susan found a handheld clock that her grandfather gave her as her precious gift. She decided to open it and discovered her past, present and future. "Humanity is made up of people like the ocean is made up of drops. As the ocean pounds on the shoreline, humanity pounds on fragile ecosystems."See how did she travel through the passage of time?#PlanetOrPlastic
our future depends on what we choose now, so choose wisely.
The water that forms the gentle, meandering rivers and kisses one's cheeks as pattering rain is the same water that makes roaring tsunamis and angry, root ripping torrents.Water was made to heal. But what happens the Ocean can no longer heal because She needs to be healed Herself?Water, in the end, will be whatever it needs to be.***My third entry for National Geographic's writing competition, 'Planet or Plastic'.
This story details the life of a Q-Tip: from it's birth in a factory to it's place in the clutches of a seahorse.
'Serenity was a hazy memory; hope was vacant.' Serenity and hope - an euphoric pair - replaced by the passionlessness of rapacity. Lives demolished, a consequence of our heedlessness. Our planet - forever gone. The termination of planet earth... we're the reason. This short story is an entry for the 'Planet or Plastic' contest run by National Geographic, subsequently being an insight on Celestia's life avoiding the fatal burden we've initiated. There's still time for change; it's never too late.I hope you enjoy.-Savannah x---VOTE IF YOU ENJOYED - IT HELPS! โบ๏ธ
