What he isn't expecting is that a she-cat named Star Shadow, who is desperately loyal to the Tribe of Endless Hunting, will start her own tribe; the Tribe of Darkened Skies. She renames herself as the Watcher Of The Shining Moon, AKA Moonwatcher.Jay's Wing, Half Moon, Lion's Roar, and Dove's Wing are among the few chosen to go with Moonwatcher and the Tribe of Darkened Skies, where they learn that Moonwatcher requires a sign from the Tribe of Endless Hunting to do the smallest things, like choosing mates or naming kits. So when a new threat arises and the Tribe of Endless Hunting sends a sign saying not to do anything, Jay's Wing must go against fate to protect his Tribe.
