But he's especially not ready to go deaf at the age of seventeen, when he hasn't done anything worth doing or listened to the sound of a real waterfall or successfully played all of the mid 1960's jazz on vinyl. He's deemed everything he's ever known as unknown, because change is inevitable, and he can't stop the universe from royally screwing him over. But he can ignore his impending doom for as long as the damn universe will let him. So he tries, at least until he graduates high school. Violet Bleu, although stuck at home with a turtle for a best friend, is destined to do great things. She can't quite imagine what those great things are, but they'll happen. She's optimistic that her future will take her far, far away from this stupid town, this stupid school, this stupid life. She just needs to escape her depressed mother and workaholic father's grasps, first. But doing so also means letting go of her late brother, and the ghosts from the past that have followed her around ever since he died. When Will and Violet meet, their lives intertwine in a way that makes them question whether or not their separate destinies are set in stone. And, after an onslaught of harrowing events, question whether or not happiness does exist in a world where all odds seem to be set against them. Through split point of views, A Life Unlisted tells the story of teenagers who grew up amidst chaos, and their journey to discover a life without confinements.
