The Colonial Epidemic
Far in the future when humans begin to invade the surface of the Moon, Mackenzie Fletcher gets contacted to make a journey from her normal life on Earth up to space to aid in a mysterious illness that has spread throughout the colony on the Moon. As Mackenzie races against the clock to find a successful formula to aid the inhabitants of the Moon, more and more people end up with the sickness and encounter death.Will she be victorious in her attempts or will they all die in space, without anyone to remember their last words?This is originally a narrative that I have written for my English class sophomore year. There is a second part to this story called The Colonial Case which I also wrote for that same class. I thought that since I have no more use for this story, that I would post it on here for you guys to enjoy! These mines were notorious in their own time, spawning delightfully adjective-rich newspaper write-ups as well as terror amongst the Tories who were threatened with a stay. The history and many characters are as authentic as I can make them. William Johnson Crawford is a documented person from this timeframe.You can read these novellas one at a time as I write them, or you can wait until I finish the boxed set and present the complete story. The weight of this deal bears heavily on his ability to fulfill it as its end goal is either he gains a chance for a happy afterlife or the utter destruction of his soul. On acceptance of this divine deal it launches him into a new mission or misadventure into a new brave world fighting monsters, supernatural skulduggery and finding himself to become the reluctant support of heroes.
