There were very specific sections of training that included what to do when a fellow officer was being held at gunpoint, or was in any danger for that matter, but Derek never thought he would have to use this training to help you. Everything about seeing you with a knife to your throat, weapons discarded, drove him mad. He hated seeing you in danger, it scared him. Derek was lucky that Hotch arrived on scene to help him out, so he didn't let his anger win and endanger you more.
