Chapter Thirteen: Naked

I woke up drenched. You could literally make sweat soup from my soaked sheets. The alarm indicated it was six in the morning, so I really needed to get going.

I glanced to the other side of the room, where Briar was still fast asleep and snoring a little on the bottom of the bunkbed. Her black hair was in a big bun on top of her head, and a book was still clutched in her fist. She was such a nerd, but I loved her for it. On top, Ara was also still sleeping with her back to me.

Jisoo made no sounds from above me and I was glad for it.

I glanced at my secret phone and saw a couple of Gunwook texts wishing me a good night. The boy will never give up trying.

My hands were trembling from the nightmare I just had. I had to take in a couple of deep breaths.

It wasn't real. I was still here. I would never have to go through it again. I will figure it out and succeed.

I had to stop the train of thoughts. It was going to consume me again. I planted my bare feet on the floor with a trembling sigh and sat up. I was heading for the showers and starting my day with a quick run before my training session.

As I made my way to the shared bathroom, basket with my shampoo and spare clothes in my left hand, I had not realized anyone would be up this early like me. I had been utterly alone in here for the last week.

Yet, the bathroom was buzzing with energy, and people streamed in and out of the showers like it was rush hour. My eyebrows were nearly in my head with surprise. Someone bumped into me from the left. It was definitely intentional. The cattiness of some of these trainees went above and beyond. I had seen them bully little Choonhae yesterday and I had come in an dragged her away from Bongcha and her evil minions. For that I had to pay a price and apparently today it was the day.

Billie was brushing her teeth at the nearest sink, black hair wet from the shower. She spat out the last toothpaste and wiped her mouth on the back of her hand, addressing me. 'You look like you've never seen this room before, Gio.'

'Y-yeah... what's with the rush hour?'

Billie giggled while gathering her things. 'You haven't realized you're in a competition with over-achievers, do you? Everyone wants to be the best and the best don't sleep in!' She walked to the exit, honing my mantra.

As I was done with the shower, the most typical pettiness act you could think off had befallen me.

My clothes were gone.

The bullies in here definitely watched too many high school movies because it was pathetic. Taking my goddamn clothes, stronzas?

It made me shiver in my non-existing boots... not.

I sighed and let my long, wet black hair fall over my boobs. I raised my chin up and started walking back to my room as if nothing was wrong.

Trainees fell over their feet, and I heard gasps and hollering. I saw the wide eyes, the stares. The appreciation of some.

They took my goddamn clothes.

They were idiota.

They could have known I had little to no modesty and didn't care about being naked. If I could live without clothes, I would do it, yet society wasn't that far along.

'Gio?' someone asked from behind me. I turned around. It was Gunwook with wide eyes and a stern look for anybody watching me.

'What are you doing here without clothes? Good god!' he growled, took off his oversized blazer jacket, and draped it over me.

Some guy protested behind him, and Gunwook gave him a dark scowl.

'They took my clothes.' I shrugged. 'It's no biggie, really.'

'People took pictures!' he hissed and angrily scowled at a girl who quickly hurried off.

'Let me know where they pop up so I can like them.' I added.

Gunwook rolled his eyes. 'Why are you like this, Jagi?' He couldn't hide the smile creeping up. He clearly found me really amusing.

'I'll walk you back.' He added and walked me back to my room.

Ara and Briar were awake and sitting up in their beds, they saw me entering, naked, with Gunwook's blazer around my shoulders, ignoring it completely.

It wasn't the strangest thing in the world to them either.
