Chapter Fifty: The Real Catch

It had been a week since Jiwoong and I had our little rendezvous in the recording studio. And what a week it had been. We had managed to sneak away for a secret date, hiding from our fellow trainees and the prying eyes of the Academy staff. We went to a small cozy café in the heart of the city, tucked away in a quiet corner where we could talk without fear of being overheard.

I leaned against the wall outside the studio, a silly smile plastered on my face as I replayed the events of the past week in my head. Jiwoong had taken me on another surprise date to a secluded beach, complete with a picnic and a bonfire. It was romantic and sweet.

He listened to every word I said and made me laugh until my stomach hurt. We talked about everything, from our favorite foods to our deepest fears. It was like we had known each other for years, not just a few short weeks.

But as much as I enjoyed my time with Jiwoong, the guilt gnawed at me. Hanbin was my partner, my teammate, my friend. And yet here I was, sneaking around. I couldn't shake the feeling that I was betraying him, that I was being disloyal, even though we had agreed upon all of it.

I shook my head, trying to clear my thoughts as I walked into the practice room. Hanbin was already there, warming up on the dance floor. He flashed me a smile when he saw me, and I couldn't help but feel a twinge of guilt.

"Hey, Alli," he said, walking over to me. "You're looking good today."

I forced a smile. "Thanks, Hanbin. You too."

We started practicing, running through our routine again and again until our muscles ached and our feet were sore. But even as we danced, I couldn't shake the guilt that weighed heavy on my heart.

After practice, as we were getting ready to leave, Hanbin spoke up. "Hey, Alli, my parents want to meet you."

I froze, my heart pounding in my chest. "What? Why?"

He shrugged. "I don't know, they just want to. I guess they saw our articles. They're in town for a few days, and they want to take us out to dinner. What do you say?"

I hesitated, unsure of what to say. On the one hand, I was thrilled to meet Hanbin's parents, to finally put a face to the name he talked about so often. On the other hand, I was terrified. What if they didn't like me? What if they found out about me and Jiwoong?

"I don't know, Hanbin," I said hesitantly. "Are you sure it's a good idea?"

He nodded, his eyes softening. "I'm positive. They'll love you, I promise. Hannah likes this idea too. And who knows, maybe they'll even help us with our training."

I couldn't help but smile at that. Hanbin was always looking for ways to improve, to get better. And if his parents could help us in any way, then I was all for it.

"Okay," I said finally. "Let's do it."

Hanbin grinned, his eyes sparkling with excitement. "Great! Hannah said we have to act like we've known each other for three years, so let's get started."

We spent the next few days rehearsing our story, going over every detail until we had it down pat. Hanbin's parents arrived on Friday, and we met them at a fancy restaurant downtown.

Hanbin's parents were waiting for us at the restaurant, and I could feel my palms starting to sweat as we approached their table. Hanbin looked calm and collected, as if he had done this a million times before.

"Mom, Dad, this is Allison," Hanbin introduced me, and I offered them a small smile.

"It's nice to finally meet you both," I said, trying to sound confident.

"It's our pleasure," Hanbin's mother said warmly. "We've heard so much about you."

I felt my cheeks heat up, wondering what Hanbin had told his parents about me. I hoped it was all good things.

Throughout the meal, we chatted about various topics, from our hobbies to our favorite foods. Hanbin's parents were incredibly kind and easy to talk to, and I started to feel more at ease.

They were everything I expected them to be - kind, warm, and welcoming. And they absolutely adored me.

As we left the restaurant, Hanbin's father pulled me aside. "I have to say, Allison," he said, his eyes twinkling. "You're a real catch. Hanbin's lucky to have you."
