The next morning Amelia had already been up binge watching shows.

She found herself picking up her phone a couple of times and began to type a message to fez but deleted it immediately.

She wanted to talk to him so bad but had no idea how to not make it awkward until finally at around 4 am she finally texted him.

Monday 4:38 am

Hey you're probably sleep but I can't sleep.

Amelia immediately regretted saying that but there was no way she could take it back.

She just threw her phone across the bed and continued to watch her show and tried her best to ignore that her phone existed until she received a text.

She was nervous to see who it was but she took the phone finally.

Amy what tf are you doing awake at 4

Can't sleep
Also sorry I never texted you back I kinda passed out on the couch

Don't you got school in like two hours tho?

Not going my parents just get here

Damn so that mean I'm not gonna see you today

Amelia smiled and suddenly the thought of not being able to talk to him was gone. She didn't know how well she could do interacting in person with him which would probably be horrible and awkward.

Idk my dad would probably ask me a bunch on questions if I do go out

aye no that's cool w me I don't want to get you in trouble or nun.

I'll see what I can do

Amelia continued to text fez back and forth for an hour talking about literally anything.

All she could do was laugh at her screen with everything they were talking about.

If fez was being honest he was tired as ever but after a whole day Amelia was talking to him and he didn't want to lose the opportunity by going to sleep.

Monday 5:56 am

Oh shit I'm probably keeping you up I'm sorry.

I'm good

Once Amelia started to get comfortable again she made a decision she was going to hate herself for later.

I need to talk to you about something

Shit now you got me scared

No no it's nothing bad I just think it's better if I talk to you in person.

I'm free whenever just tell me and I'll make time.

I'll probably stop by later depends how much of an asshole my dad is going to be with his new rules.
Ima go tho get a nap in before I have to get up.

Night

Amelia fell asleep quickly since her eyes were getting heavy. Fez went to sleep also happy that Amelia wasn't ignoring him completely he was just nervous about what she wanted to talk about.

"Amelia wake the fuck up!" Maddy plopped on the bed making Amelia groan and cover herself with the covers.

"What the fuck are you doing here?!" Amelia groaned while maddy laid on her, taking the covers off her head.

"Your dad wanted to talk to my mom and invited us for breakfast," Maddy explained looking at Amelia's cranky face. "Your dark circles are so bad right now, did you not sleep?! Oh I know you were up all night texting your mans"

"Maddy shut up" Amelia rolled her eyes and pushed the girl off of her while she got up the bed.

"Am i right though?!" Maddy followed her cousin into the bathroom watching her brush her teeth. Amelia just grinned and continued to do what she was doing which answered maddys question. "Oh my god! You guys are so cute it would be your mom and dad all over again!"

Maddy just kept going knowing Amelia couldn't say anything because of the toothbrush in her mouth. "How do you think your dad will feel about it? I mean he like loves fez I remember him always being over with his grandma"

"I don't know which is why we're done talking about this because it's not happening" Amelia finally stopped her while she cleaned her mouth with a towel.

"What do you mean it's not happening?!"

"At my party let's just say I got too drunk and I didn't remember until like later when I sobered up and was taking a bath I basically told him I liked him" Amelia explained to maddy while she went through her drawers taking clothes out.

"And what did he say?" Maddy followed her back into the room sitting on the bed.

"I'm not sure I don't remember" Amelia replied, taking her clothes off.

"So you're just going to ignore it?" Maddy looked at the girl disappointed and Amelia just nodded, putting a shirt on. "Amy but he knows you have to do something. We all know fez is way too shy to even bring anything up"

"It's not like we can take it anywhere maddy it would not work. Like you said there's so much to bring into consideration" Amelia sighed now fully dressed ready to head downstairs.

Maddy was right Amelia's dad was close with fez since he was kid.

Amelia never really paid attention to it since fez never really stood out to her. She was too busy trying to keep up with maddy that she never really focused on him but he did.

He would always tag along with his grandma every time she had to go see Amelia's dad just to see her. Even if it was for one second seeing her made his day.

He kept telling himself that one day he was actually going to speak to her but he never did until one day he actually chose to walk up to her and say something.

It was totally awkward but he was surprised to find that she was the kindest girl he'd ever seen. He expected her to be mean since she was always with maddy which is why it took so much courage to finally say something.

"Good morning" Amelia greeted everyone while she sat down next to her mom and maddy sat across next to her mom.

The whole time her dad just spoke of nothing relevant. Maddy and her kept exchanging looks every time he said something absurd. He wasn't exactly speaking to them, it was just him saying how things had changed.

"Amy I don't want you out the house randomly all the time you will have a curfew" her dad instructed which caused her to roll her eyes.

"Do I apply to that too or..." Maddy commented causing Amelia to send her a glare.

"That's up to your parents. I'm just saying you two need to be safe. I've already told your mom to move in..."

"I've said it a million times I don't want anything to do with the business Alejandro" maddys mom spoke up.

"I'm not saying you have to I'm trying to keep you safe"

"I'd love to move in. I basically used to live here anyways" Maddy intervened.

"Well you're always welcome here" Anna said to the girl.

They continued to talk while Amelia and maddy just ignored and began to talk about people at school and other stuff until her dad interrupted.

"Amy is Marie's grandkid still around? Fez '' Alejandro questioned making maddy almost choke on the fruit she was eating. Amelia widened her eyes and just nodded. "I told my dad about him he'll do us better than just doing whatever business he's doing"

Maddy looked over to Amelia knowing she didn't like the idea of fez getting involved in more than he already was. Once breakfast was done Amelia's dad offered to take maddy and her mom home while Amelia and her mom stayed behind to unpack something's.

"What's on your mind" Anna spoke up while Amelia looked at baby aurora swaying on her little baby bouncer. Amelia snapped out her trance and looked over to her mom.

"Where did dad go?" Amelia questioned making her sigh knowing exactly where this conversation was going.

"You don't like the idea of him getting involved do you? Is fez your friend now?"

"He doesn't need to be one for me to be worried about getting involved with dad. Yes it's safer but once it gets bad dad can only afford to protect us"

"I think stuff has changed and it will be better now" Anna took her daughter into a hug.

A while later Amelia was cleaning up her room and unpacking some things while her mom did the same.

While she cleaned the only thing on her mind was how fez would probably take the deal her dad was talking about.

She didn't blame him, it would be good for his business but it wasn't safe. She loved her dad but she knew what he was involving fez in was dangerous.

She wasn't even supposed to care now that her parents were back she remembered that everything between her and fez was impossible.

Her dad would never let her be involved with him, especially now. But we all know love has its ways and will make people break rules.

Her dad had come home and was stuck in his office as usual. She put on a show while she cleaned until she was interrupted by the buzzing of her phone.

Yo Amy I need your help with rue

What's wrong? Where are you?

My house just come quick

Amelia took her keys and put her phone in her pocket and rushed to her dad's office that was open. Her mom was also there sitting across from him going through some papers when Amelia entered and both of them turned to her.

"Can I go to rues house? I promise it'll be quick" Amelia asked hoping they would say yes.

"Be back before nine" her dad answered. As soon as she got an answer she rushed out of the house into her car. She was worried for Rue; she knew how much she'd been using drugs and had no idea what to expect. She thought it must be serious for fez to be asking her for help.

While she drove she'd forgotten about all the nerves she was getting before seeing fez. At this very moment all she cared about was me.

When she arrived at fezcos house she knocked on the door which was immediately opened by ashtray. He moved aside allowing her in.

"Where is she?" Amelia rushed in seeing rue on the couch while fez sat on a chair. "What happened?" The girl questioned while she kneeled down next to rue checking her pulse.

"I tried to make her leave she just wouldn't fucking listen!" Fez answered in a frustrated tone.

"Not what I asked..." Amelia muttered, still looking at Rue.

"Mouse gave her some hard ass drug" Ashtray answered her, causing fez to send him a glare.

"Mouse?!" Amelia snapped up from the floor.

"Why the fuck would you tell her?!" Fez shouted at Ash.

"I would take her home but her mom is there and I can't take her to my house..." Amelia paced around scrolling through her phone.

"Who you finna call?" Fez questioned.

"The girl she's been hanging out with. Jules" she answered while she typed down the text.

After texting Jules Amelia decided to wait to make sure Rue was fine until Jules made it there. Fez was sitting outside on the floor waiting as well. Amelia decided to go out then looked over at the floor where fez was sitting. She sighed and sat next to him wanting to talk.

"You okay?"

"I just worry about her, that's all" fez replied.

"Me too" Amelia agreed and put her knees up to her chest. "You thought I was going to tell my dad that's why you didn't want ash telling me who did that"

Fez just looked over to the girl with an apologetic look and she put her hand on his in a comforting manner.

"I would never do that." Amelia reassured. "Just because he's my dad doesn't mean that you have to hide the truth like the fact that he came to see you today"

"Amelia..."

"I just don't want you getting involved with him..."

"Why not?" Fez stopped her, causing her to pause not knowing how to answer the question. There was really no other answer than the pure truth. She just simply cared about him.

"I care about you and I don't want you to end up in one of his messes" Amelia responded looking him straight in the eye. You could tell the genuine worry she had for fez.

"You don't have to worry I know how to handle my problems"

"I'm still allowed to care" Amelia said fez sighed and wrapped his hand around her and brought her in closer.

This moment wasn't about romantic feelings, it was about two people who actually cared for each other.

They didn't have much interaction with words throughout the years but the bond was there.

Even if the feelings weren't there at the end of the day fez was someone Amelia grew up with and both of them had a special place in their heart for each other.

The two stayed like that for a while without talking.

All Amelia could think about was about what had occurred at the party and whether she should bring it up or not.

She had nothing to lose now they could either talk about it and move on or just ignore it for the rest of their lives which was going to be impossible.

"Fez" Amelia spoke up, fez just hummed in response letting her know he was listening. "I remember what I said the night of my party"

Fez moved his arm away from her so he could face her.

"I'm not saying it's not true. I do like you but I just feel like I still need time to figure some things out. I like being around you and I'm sorry I told you like that..." Amelia then stopped noticing how fez was looking at her. His eyes were stuck on her admiring every feature. "...okay help me out here I'm kinda failing"

"Amy of course I fucking like you..." fez chuckled along with Amelia.

"Then when I told you that night why didn't you make a move?"

"Cause that shit is fucked up man I wasn't about to do all that" fez answered. "I wanted it to be you to tell me"

"So you wanted me to embarrass myself in front of you..."

"You're not embarrassing yourself, it's all cool" he reassured.

"So we're still friends"

"Of course"

Amelia sighed and took a second before she spoke up again. "What did my dad tell you?"

"He gave me a deal to join him..."

"Fez just know just because it's him doesn't mean you have to take it you can say no..."

"Amy ima be alright okay" fez interrupted her.

The two were then interrupted by Jules who was parking her bike. Fez got up and put his hand out to help Amelia up. She took his hand and helped herself up.

"Hi Jules, I know it was awkward for me to call you. You barely even know me but Rue needs somewhere to stay. I'm hoping it's not a problem..."

"No it's okay. Where is she...?" Jules replied.

"Inside I'd have to drive her..."

"No it's okay I got it you need to head home I know your dad don't like you out this late" fez intervened.

"Fez she's my friend..."

"I'll go see her" Jules excused herself, noticing the tension between them. Fez allowed her in and then turned back to Amelia.

"Go home and text me when you get there okay?" Fez set his hands on the side of her arms and Amelia nodded.

"Tell me when you take them home" Amelia said and hugged him fez quickly hugged her back wrapping his arms around her waist.

"Come on I'll walk you to your car" fez said and Amelia nodded, disconnecting from him. The two walked out to her car while Amelia unlocked it with her keys. Once they got there Amelia stopped and turned to him. "Drive safely okay I got Rue don't worry about it"

"I will" Amelia reassured and fez went to open the driver door. Amelia smiled but before she got in she paused and leaned in to give fez a little peck on the cheek.

Fez was trying his best not to blush, feeling her soft lips on his cheek. All he wanted to do was shut the door and push her against it and make out with her right now but he knew that would be pushing it so far when what they were doing was taking it slow.

"Goodnight amy"

"Goodnight" Amelia got in and fez shut the door she turned on the car and fez waited for her to drive away. When she did he stood there thinking of the conversation they'd just have.

Amelia was scared for him and that just showed how much she actually cared for him and fez felt so special.

Nobody else other than his grandma and Ash had ever cared for him that way and it felt good to have someone like that.

Having Amelia care for you was special because she cared like no one else in the world. I liked that about her.

If I'm being honest all of us deserve an Amelia in our lives. Life would definitely be better with one.

The only thing fez could think of was Amelia since she admitted she liked him.

He couldn't believe it all he wanted to do was kiss her and treat her like the most special girl in the world but he knew there were things to take into consideration.

Things Amelia probably hadn't thought about and it worried fez because of those very things the two of them might not work.
